User manual for the Black 7000 DLE mkII

Postby rbduck » Fri Dec 13, 2019 9:16 pm

I know it may be right in front of my eyes , but I'm looking for a User Manual for the Black 7000DLE mkII. The manual under downloads has the pictures and back panel for the silver 8000 DLE mkII. I've ordered one (the black one) and I'm anxious to take a look at the exact placement of the back plane connections. I'm trying to plan ahead. Thanks

There is no separate user manual for the black 7000. If you go on Apache's web site there are excellent photos of the unit including the rear panel.

Thank you sir! I feel like a little kid at Christmas. I purchased the 7000DLE mk II's and I'm anxious to get it. Apache said it should be delivered before Christmas. Thanks again for the information.

Hello,

I'm resuming this old message because I would like to know the differences between the 7000 DLE blue version and the 7000 DLE MKII black version. Maybe the question is already answered somewhere, but I didn't find it on the forum.
I would like to buy the new black MKII, but I may have opportunity to buy the blue version at a lower price.
Before taking a decision I would like to better understand the differences.

Thank you very much

Hello Enzo,

Between May 2016 and May I used the ANAN-200DE, between May 2018 and May 2020 the blue version of the 7000DLE and since May 2020 the black 7000DLE MkII.
I noticed some improvements between the blue and black 7000:
- better cooling, with slightly more fan noise
- much faster (problemfree) first installation on the LAN, or direct on the PC
- 5 to 10 dB reduced IMD-3 with Pure Signal, resulting in -65 dB to -70 dB IMD-3
- slightly better reception: less IMD, 5 dB lower noisefloor

Thank you Scott and Hans for your help.

Maybe you already are aware of a very explanatory doc in the TAPR Openhpsdr repository https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Firmware/blob/master/Protocol%202/Documentation/openHPSDR%20Ethernet%20Protocol%20v3.8.pdf
In the ending part of the document I found a in depth descriptions of the board inside every Apache rigs (from the very first to the latest 8000 MKII).
While we are here, considering you are in EU and owned almost every Apache Anan rigs, can you suggest me a EU seller?
Some of the link provided in the official Apache Labs pages are broken or the linked shop is non more in activity (like WoodBoxRadio here in Italy).

Thank you again and best 73'

Dear Enzo,

Thank you for your reply!

Very interesting document with the descriptions of the various boards

I have very good experiences with Joachim Kraft DL8HCZ in Hamburg, where I bought all three my ANAN SDR's and this month the V2 Controller. He is fast responding, has very good after-sales and technical support.

This is his address: Apache-Labs@t-online.de

Good luck, stay healthy and 73! Hans PA0Q.
