Hi, very impresive all the work Richie. To check the files you upload to dropbox is there any trick?. My tentatives to install it always get some error and I can't test the versions. I use the oficial 2.6.8 ( 9/10/19).
I use a old machine that usually are at 50% load with the basic radio programs, it will love the DX change :P

Thanks a lot.

When I download from dropbox I right click the zip, and properties, then click the unblock option. Then expand everything into the install folder.

However, Doug has just done an update on his personal github pages, and an alpha release install is here :

Remember to backup your database :)

Great job Richie. the 9/30 update is working fantastic. CPU % is down to 6% in RX, and 8% in TX on a Dell XPS 8700 i7, 16gb of RAM, 2 monitors, and I can now stream cable TV, have picDisplay enabled, 2 monitors, and still hold 60fps with no problem. Kick ass!

One thing I did notice is that when the spectrum gird is aligned to the right on the panadapter, almost half of the numbers are chopped off. Its not that way when aligned to the left. Ive attached a screenshot.

Thanks for your fantastic work on version 2.6.8 - the UX is so much smoother and better now and I have started enjoying using the software and my anan again.

I am controlling the VFO via CAT commands and an external controller (TM2). Despite selecting the CTUN button the waterfall is smearing when changing frequency.

I do not get this issue with the waterfall moving/smearing when I use a Midi controller and select CTUN or when using the mouse and selecting CTUN

Unless there is an option that I am not selecting correctly I suspect that this is a bug - would it be PLEASE possible to look into this and replicate how CTUN works when changing frequency via Midi/Mouse?

THANKS

Nicholas

Hi Nicholas,

I have added an option and made the changes.

Cheers, Richie.

Oh wow Richie THANK YOU SO MUCH :-) :-) :-) that is perfect and exactly what I was after - can I download the patch yet or is it still being tested?

I literally can't keep up, either! :D Fabulous work, Richie, fabulous!

FYI, I just installed from the w5wc repo and got revision C1. I had to manually drag and drop the revision C2 files from the Dropbox link to get C2.

Hi all,

Please try : https://www.dropbox.com/s/nlbh2v7yzgx9i ... 3.zip?dl=0

Quite a number of fixes in this one. Please spend a bit of time testing the highlighted ones and let me know if any oddities.

Cheers, Richie.

2.6.8 (09/30/19) (c3)
  • change: moved high SWR warning display to common point for both gdi + directx renders instead of 'everywhere'
  • fix: variable sized gap no longer appears on top of waterfall, related to step/top of grid
  • change: tx profile changes with mode (direct code port from powersdr)
  • fix: initialisation state of Display Use Spec Min/Max check boxes
  • fix: size difference in compressed view of rx1/rx2 meters, all now aligned
  • fix: small lsb/mode labels not shown in rx2 in some cases when in collapsed view
  • add: option in CAT to always re-centre vfo on ZZFx command. Unchecked it will obey CTUN.
  • fix: issue with directx2d rendered string width calculation, was noticeable on right aligned grid values
  • fix: notches can not be dragged or resized below 0Hz and above max_frequency (implications with tranverters?)
  • fix: fix possible crash/exception in band stack/lock selection
  • fix: can now resize grids in spectrumscope and panascope views
  • fix: skin background now retained when using track map from spot system, 3rd refactor of this code
  • fix: waterfall->use spec min/max will now use correct values when band changed
  • change: RX1 settings 'bands for max/min' and 'band for low/high' now include bands other than ham (rx2 yet to do)
  • fix: wide notch filter right click would cause exception

UI issues:
- if the RF/TX passband moves outside IF, need to move at edge, or disable tx/rx
- band panel will not resize correctly when app started in collapsed view. Due to panel.visible check being done before window itself is visible. Needs full rework of visible code
- if pan is used, and then TX without DUP enabled, active TX area can be off screen

ToDo:
- rx2 max/min low/high
- option to enable/disable small labels mode/filter in vfo boxes
- option to auto add notch on max sig inside rx bp
- option to show fall off edges, currently width is reduced by 4%
- option to show/hide fps
- option to increase particle size in phase
- grab top/bottom areas of spectrum range sliders to only change the upper or lower limits
- inspect code paths for the SWR part of EDGE PWR_SWR
- re-work of VHF/HF/GEN panel(s) show/hide method
- peak blob(s)
- remove all dead/commented code (console.cs) (display.cs)
- hide date/time option
- improved puresignal enabled/disabled notification?
- add offset to waterfall range if link spectrum grid used
- further work required on 'spectrum scale drag'
- rework all band edge/info into single class, with DB
- notch: need to look into xvtr implications/implementation
- notch: no colour options for notches
- issue with CWX window and selectedindex, further investigation required, temp fix implemented
- Special Panafall Mode (from spot) no longer works. (NC3Z) --- re-implement

hah thanks, interesting, XY pos is stored it seems. Will add to list

Just updated the exe in post above, to fix an exception/crash on right click when a notch filter was wider than 1000hz

there are 3 basic tx profiles tracked

1) DIGL, DIGU
2) FM
3) everything else

So for each of those 3 mode blocks, if you can have a different profile selected, it will be associated to that mode block and selected again when you switch back. The code is basically pulled from PowerSDR (except for AM which is tracked in powersdr).

One thing that i do not anderstand is the shifting of the filter-window when switching between ctune on and off. I may have something wrong im my setup. Here to show it in DIGU with 3KHz Filter and 4X zoom:

Hi Helmut, This is something I have on the list to sort out when the RX filter edge code is reworked. Only way around it at the moment is not to have such a large zoom when in CTUN mode.

Edit: does it happen at a much lower zoom? ie with the filter well inside the window and not near the edges

Edit2; other possibility is that you are not in DUP mode, and you are seeing a shift related to the cw pitch that is used for the tune?

RIchie.

I wish that the AM to SSB TX profiles would change with mode as well, just like in 3.4.9 of protocol 1. This is because most of us use different TX profiles between SSB and AM.

at the moment, lsb, usb, am, sam, etc are one and the same. digu/digl and fm have their own tx profile store. I will add AM when I get a mo.

Helmut wrote:Richie, you are right, it is only on 4X Zoom, if I go to 2X it does not jump ! And I am always in DUP mode.

So will work with CTUN off for the moment, that´s no problem - only wanted to make it visible here.

Thank you so much for your changes, it is terrific to see how Thetis improves !

Yeah I thought so Helmut, should be sorted by end of week when I get a bit of free time. Keep the filter in-view with some decent space either side and should be ok, atb, Richie.

Hi Richie

Thank you so much for all your work with getting the CTUN working with CAT commands. It works perfectly now.

Really impressed with all your efforts and the fantastic work you are doing. Is there a page we can crowdfund and donate to you?

Thanks

When Spotting is enabled and in cw mode the line with the callsign is shifted by the side tone frequency. Is it possible to put the line just where the panadaptor show a signal ?
