Hercules MP3 E2 not working on PSDR 3.4.7

Postby G0MGM » Fri Mar 16, 2018 9:38 pm

Hi

I was just watching Scotts video on how to set this up on my 8000 DLE, Im running 3.4.7 and when I click on Setup/CAT Control/ Configure Midi I get the screen from the video and I get the screen with the DJ Control MP3 E2 tab and Im asked to move the sliders or knobs, but when I do the window below mappings all goes blan. I am unable to map any of the buttons or knobs.

I have tried resetting the database and trying from scratch without putting any settings at all but I get the same issue.

Any ideas?

Rob,

It sounds like you get to the screen that says "You operated one of the controls on your controller." Is that right?

Then, if I understand you correctly, you say that as soon as you do operate a control, the setup screen goes blank. Is that right?

If so, and you have reset the database, I have no good ideas for you. Some bad ideas:

What version of Windows are you running and is it up to date?

Are the Hercules drivers up to date?

HI Scott

No I dont even get that. Hopefully the attachment will get through this time. Te first one is of the Configure Midi screen when it first opens, as you can see it recognises the DJ controller, the second screen is of what happens when I touch ant control, slider knob etc on the DJ controller.
I have done a database reset and tried it with the same results. I am running Win 10 Pro 64Bit with all the latest updates. I found the latest version of the DJ Controller software labelled 2018_HDJS_1 on the Hercules website which I installed.

Good to hear, Rob. There is a separate MIDI settings file from the normal database.xml file. It may have been corrupt.

Thanks Scott

When I originally installed TouchOSC sometime ago thats when I lost the DJ control, I just never got round to trying to investigate why so its been like this over the last two upgrade.

Still its good to have it back, been doing mainly CW and having to use my right hand for the paddle and the mouse to change freq has not been great. Will put it to the test tonight in the Russian DX contest.

Cheers

I picked up The Hercules MP3 E2 at a hamfest last weekend for $40 This thing works great with PowerSDR 3.4.9 although I did have some issues getting the drivers installed in Windows 10 Enterprise. I ended up using the disc that came with the controller and although Windows 10 does not identify my controller the way the manual shows with Windows 7 it ID's as "USB Composite Device" it works just great. Got everything mapped up and this thing works Awesome with PowerSDR 3.4.9 & my 8000DLE. Very well spent $40 making the DLE-8000 feel just like a dual VFO radio!

Attached is a template for my button mapping as well as my mapping file for anyone interested.
