TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Hi Scott,
It was a mistake from my side to get the samples from a different folder ! I was checking some where !
How is the impact of "Custom sized Layout" as seen in your layout ?
I was trying to make a new layout modifying your layout. Notice some controls behave as if I pressed some other control close to it !
I doubt the screen size issue ?
I use Ipad.
Now I am trying to rebuild it selecting "iPad " in place of "Custom"

Don't know, Prem. I'm strictly an Android guy and don't know anything about iOS. I prefer Google's evil empire to Apple's evil empire
Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Hi Scott,
I designed my OSC layout which cover most of functions on PSDR screen.
I like to add option to display VFO Freq display in OSC layout. Is that function available ??

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Short answer: no.
Long answer: you would have to write a Windows application that obtains the frequency from PowerSDR using a serial CAT connection and then re-transmits that over a MIDI connection to TouchOSC.

Prem,
How about posting a screen shot of your layout?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Hi Scott,
So we cant do the frequency displayed in OSC screen.
Please find attached the layout details I prepared modifying your layout and referring to some other sample layouts.
I have 3 Pages in my Layout as attached. If anyone interested, I can share the OSC design data file.

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Great job, Prem! Excellent use of the multiple screen capability of TouchOSC, too!
Now you just need a wireless headset so you can roam around with your tablet and work the radio wirelessly!
And, when you decide you want to change something, you can!

Hi Scott,
Thanks for compliment.
We miss the Freq read out when away from PC screen ! We should be able to see the freq ! Rest all OK .
Also I noticed we don't have option to MAP few things as :
1. RX1 AF
2. CTUNE
etc.

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Prem,
RX1 AF and CTUN are both available MIDI commands. Look at the list more carefully.
Any others you think you are missing?
The lack of a method for displaying frequency over MIDI is a consequence of the fact that the vast majority of MIDI controllers have no provision for displaying frequency. TouchOSC is a notable exception!
I have taken to using Chromecast to display PowerSDR on TVs around my house, and using TouchOSC to control the radio from whatever room I happen to be in.

Hi Scott,
I could see
Vol VFO A &B
AF Gain which is Master AF in PSDR screen
RX2 Vol.
RX1 AF or Vol not seen
Also CTUNE not seen.
Can you tell me the Text seen in Mapping list for these missing functions (in my case) ?

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Prem, I am not home for a few days so cannot confirm what the names are, but those controls are there, trust me. The problem is that some of the control naming suffers from some bad English (sorry, Andrew and Chris! )
I think I remember CTUN being listed as "Click Tune" or something like that. I can't remember exactly which control is RX1 AF, but it is also there. I'm pretty sure it's VFO A volume or something like that. You'll have to experiment (just as I did) or wait a few days until I get back to the radio.

Hi Erwin,
Thanks for response.
I have noticed VFO A & B Vol. Is it same as RX1 & RX2 Vol or AF ?? If same, why we have two different functions ?? That was confusing me.
Even in PSDR screen, we have
AF
RX1 AF
RX2 AF
Then separate vertical Sliders named as " Vol"

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface
Hi Prem,
sorry, was a Mistake: Vol. VFO B works only for MultiRX.
The correct one is RX2 Volume,
Id-Nr. in the Commands is 222.
That works here perfekt.

My doubt is that, if the RX1 Vol is same as VFO A Vol ??

Hi Prem,
sorry for delay, some Problems with my Harley............
I have testet, yes, VFO A is RX1, some thing are difficult, Volume VFO B is only for the Sub-Receiver, i think.
Hope your Touch is running now?
