Kjell,

my Orion MKII is part of my ANAN 7000DLE. I cannot imagine how to run Pure Signal with the transverter output (HF PA disabled).
To be honest, I was not even able to find the transverter output path in the schematics.

Kjell, you are of course right, it is 18db gain, I had already changed it today at noon.

to your test, have you measured a test board with the Gali51+? so in pushpull, I'm interested in the results of that.

To the transverter, you could feed back the IF signal by PAD, on mine the transverter output is on page 12 top right, J12

Sorry, but I've had a delay on my work and it looks like it will be mid week next week before I have time to make the change in the transformer.

I'll update when I can.

Happy Easter!

Are there any news about this IMD thingy?

After reading Abhi's reply, I decided to leave it as is. I don't particularly like the design but have too many irons in the fire to chase this one at this time. Maybe later this year.

Hello,

yes, I got my test boards, still waiting for some components, then I try to reproduce this behavior first.
If this succeeds reproducibly, I have made small adapter boards with which I can insert other transformers and attenuators.
These boards can then be used instead of the transformers.
I will also make a test with the MC Splitter/Combiner.

To the picture, left - correct mounting direction, center - as on Orion and right - splitter/combiner.

Apart from changing some coupling caps through substitution, I've been deathly afraid of modifying my Orion II with sub-boards. While a sub-board design may cure one problem, will it be offset by introducing another?

I think any invasive change with outside material would require a litany of tests to ensure that the original performance isn't degraded in any way.

Hello,

unfortunately I don't have much time at the moment, QRL, family, house..., all the components are with me, I have put the project in a box for now and will continue it when time allows.

Theoretically, nothing will change in the following stages, because the levels of the main signal will not increase, that's why there are attenuators on the small boards.

I don't know if this will lead to success in the end, but I have tried it.
