Why does the waterfall looks so much better when using pihpsdr, (it is much more colorful)? I would think that one would be able to have the same beautiful colors as in pihpsdr, when using Thetis. Currently have selected 'Enchanced' for Palette.

Have you explored the waterfall settings in Thetis? There is plenty of adjustments there to customize it.

Hello James,
Yes, I have tried to customize it, but can not get it to look as good as pihpsdr in waterfall AUTO mode! Have you tried it?

Re: Waterfall Spectrum Colors
The only device I have that uses PiHPSDR is a V1 controller. I have never tried updating the OS or PiHPSDR in it. Personally, I prefer Thetis on my pc.
Are you using a G2 Saturn with the front panel?

Re: Waterfall Spectrum Colors
John, just out of curiosity, could you post a screenshot of the waterfall in PiHPSDR that you are seeing? I will hook up my controller later and see if the version of PiHPSDR has a setting like you are seeing.

Re: Waterfall Spectrum Colors
If so, here is where you set it up in Thetis.
Re: Waterfall Spectrum Colors
OK, below I will attach a screenshot of the waterfall using pihpsdr, and also the waterfall using Thetis. One can clearly see that the pihpsdr is more beautiful! It seems like the 'ECHANCED' mode in Thetis needs to be more ENHANCED!
Yes, have the G2 with display. I like the fact that I can use the G2 without needing a separate PC (some of the time). The push buttons are set up to enable/disable PS, AF Volume, CMP, and ANF.
The Encoders I have set to:
(inner) Mic
(outer) TX Drive
(inner) AF
(outer) AGC
(inner) Spectrum Zoom RX1
(outer) PAN RX1
(inner) Spectrum MAX
(outer) Spectrum MIN
Why would anyone just want a black box?

Re: Waterfall Spectrum Colors
Looks good John! Everyone has different tastes in how they operate and how information is presented to them. That's what makes using a radio like the G2 Saturn ( with or without, the front panel) a nice experience.
You can get basically the same look in Thetis with some careful adjustment of the different display settings available. The Collapsed view using the Andromeda controls display along with the waterfall settings can be quite nice. Either way, it can be a fun exercise tweaking things to get the look and feel one wants.

Hello James,
OK, it is much better now, I had the Waterfall Detector set to PEAK, not AVERAGE! Thank you for the screenshot!
