Unable to acess Skin Server

Hello,

I am running Thetis V2.10.3.4 X64 and cannot access the skin server on my desktop and laptop.
When I go to setup and skin servers after the initial msg "Obtaining skin server list from GitHub" it waits 30-45 seconds and I get the "Unable to retrieve skin server list" msg.

Please suggest if I am doing something wrong.

check you can access

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ramdo ... rvers.json

edit: your isp might be blocking it if you are unable to view the results of that url. Thetis uses that to obtain the list of skin servers.

Not clear what you meant check "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ramdo ... rvers.json"

when I click the link I get an error message
This site can’t be reached
raw.githubusercontent.com took too long to respond.

I can see the skin server raw file here

skin_servers.json

When I click on it I can see the raw file. I don't get what to do with this file.
Do I need to put the URL somewhere?

Thetis uses the following URL to obtain the skin server list

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ramdor/Thetis/master/skin_servers.json

If you are unable to view that url as you say 'This site can’t be reached' then it is blocked at your end by your ISP, and there is not much I can do about that.

what happens when you access the RAW in github by clicking the button circled :

Dear Richie,

I have added Google Public DNS 8.8.8.8 to my network connection and now the link you provided can be opened without any issue when I click on it.

Thetis is still not fetching the 4 server list.

Any clue now?

tried flushdns ? and/or shutting down/restarting thetis?

edit: also, try a reboot

Dear Richie,

Without shutting Thetis would not let you try again as the msg on the screen won't go away and restarting the thetis only way to get the skin server retry to fetch the details and I did that several times without luck. Tried flushdns after your suggestion and no luck either.
Restarting the computer too has not done any good.
I can access the page otherwise since I added DNS

could try adding an entry to the hosts file, other than that I am not sure. I will add some error/log message in next release perhaps. An entry like the following into your hosts file which should be in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc (you will need admin perms to update that file) :

Dear Richie,

Thanks for your continuous support and I have added the line to the host file.
the website was pinging and I restarted and ran Thetis & reached the skin server tab and was
disappointed by strange behaviour.

Earlier first thing I used to see Obtaining skin server list but this time window was showing Unable to retrieve
server list. Before I could mourn yet another failure, Suddenly the screen flashed and that window disappeared
and a drop-down menu was in front of my eyes.

Now the skin server is accessible to me.
