Different 'RX1 acting up whereas RX2 is not'

Postby KA5KKT » Sun Jun 18, 2023 1:46 am

I've added an end fed wire antenna to my remote 2 x 6 switch-box. One coax goes to the #1 antenna terminal on my 7000DLE MKII. The other feeds the RX terminal. It is very easy to swap the feeds at the switch-box via software control.

RX1 quite often suffers with overload on the 124.5' end fed. RX2 never seems to do so. The overload is obvious on both the audio and display of RX1. None of my other antennas seem to induce overload of either RX1 or RX2. I believe the settings on each RX to be similar if not identical.

...thoughts?

Is RX1 set to ADC0 and RX2 set to ADC1?

Are the attenuation settings the same on both RX1 and RX2?

Is this overload only during TX?

As far as I know overload is during RX. I haven't done any checking on the TX side of the matter.

If overload is during RX then I don't have a good answer.

Are BPFs both enabled (Setup > Ant/Filters)?

Are you close to any AM broadcast stations?

Could there be a problem in your switch such that one path has some attenuation and the other doesn't? What happens if you swap the positions of the cables on the back of the ANAN?

I believe the bandpass filters are proper.

Previously with an Elecraft K3/LP-Pan and an HPSDR software variant I have had interference I would attribute to AM Broadcast. I don't precisely recall how far that station might be...haven't been out that way in a while.

Switching the coaxes between the RX port an Ant 1 port the problem continutes.
