PA Gain settings (12 m behaves oddly)

Postby JJ4SDR » Mon Jun 06, 2022 7:57 pm

Hi,

I wanted to calibrate the PA Gain settings for all the bands (I was in the dummy) although I don't even have antennas for all bands. No issues at all except on 12m, the max RF out is 90W or thereabouts so for the Drive Slider @100% position I would use the 90W number except that I forgot to correct the Drive Slider @100% (thinking I would be getting 100W without a hitch). I use "Drive slider" for doing all of this as it has worked well for me.

For RF measurements I am using an LP-100A and Thetis v.2.9.0.6 x64 (4/23/22) Protocol 2 v2.1.18.

Below, see the global gain figures.

Any suggestions?

I have a 7000DLE blue face and it was down on power on 12 meters when it left the factory. I sent it to Doug and he put the correct parts in the LPF and sent it back to me.
Some units left the factory with wrong parts in the LPF.
It is now putting out full power on 12 meters.

My 12 was awful high powered and had to turn it down in PA.

Thanks for feedback.

I am not sure if it is worth the trouble to ship mine back to Doug (the radio is still under warranty) as I would be using an amp on that band any way. However, not too glad that there is an issue with "parts."

My ANAN 7000 DLE MKII has the black front (received it in Aug 2021) so it would seem that those parts are still not up to speck in the LPF and are still not caught by QC.
