Last week I received my new Anan 7000 (the one without external fan connector, just a rectangular hole.....). I operate it with Thetis 2.8.11 21k7 which allows to display the voltage/current information of the Anan PA. However, with full 100W CW output depending on the band and SWR the maximum current I read is about 6-7A. This doesn't make sense and other Anan users told me that they read 12-13A on average. Do I have a defective current sensor or did Anan make a change in the last production run? Any hints welcome. Thanks!

Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
Re: Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
What does it show when you use the 2TONE button?
Pls give a full screenshot when transmitting with 2tone test.

Re: Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
Hi Leon,
A screenshot with a two tone signal is attached. The power supply indicates about 12.5A total (80m). The on-screen reading is 3.6A which is too low. WIth a single tone (Tune) the Thetis display indicates 6.6A which is too low either. I probably need to contact Apache Lab's support. I do not intend to replace a chip (ACS713) in a brand new transceiver..... But well, without Thetis I would have never noticed this issue.

Re: Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
That is a strange issue indeed. My 7k takes 16,1 Amp (100W / 40m) both on the PSU and Thetis.
What protocol and FW version are you using? Mine is Prot 2 v3.8
There is an update but this version works great for me.

I have same issue with my 4 week old 7000. About 6 amps at 100 w tune and 0 in receive.
Still waiting on my request to Anan for schematics . . . . .

Re: Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
Interesting, same here: 0A on receive and 6.6A on 80m with Tune at about 100W. My guess is that Apache Labs in the last production batch has made a change or has used a different sensor chip. I have no clue how the voltage/current readings are happening via the software. We need feedback from Apache Labs and/or the programmer(s).
I currently use the 2.1.18 firmware but the behavior was the same with the Protocol 2 version 2.0b firmware that I downloaded from the Apache Labs website.

Re: Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
If you've never calibrated your PA Gain settings then it's possible that you're not actually putting out anywhere near 100 watts even though your Drive slider is maxed out at 100.

Mark,
Thanks - everything is properly calibrated and I am using a digital vector wattmeter. Output is 100W. I have asked Apache Labs if they made a change in the last production lot. Could be even a wrong component. Unfortunately I don't have a circuit diagram of the PA.

Dear all,
Thanks for your comments. Apache Labs Support in the meantime gave me the following explanation:
"The old current sensor chip used previously has been obsoleted and replaced by a new one, the software will be updated shortly to support the new chip".

That's very good info, Thomas, thanks for running that to ground for everyone!

@w5wc @ramdor
Have you gents received any info from the factory on this? Can't think of who else might be writing code at this time?

nope Scott, nothing here, although I did have a quick look at the code around the V/I handling when this thread started. I don't know if we can pull that info from the firmware or some sort of chip id, otherwise we will have to have an option to select which version of the 7000 is in use?

Re: Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
Not sure. Don't have the new schematics. Probably something Doug needs to be consulted on.
This might be a good time/reason to incorporate all of your great work into a production release.

Re: Anan 7000DLE MKII: voltage/current reading in Thetis
rather than doing versions just make it like power output and have itscale.

Asking Apache Labs Support about the status of the current reading issue, I got this reply within a few hours:

I wonder who Apache thinks is doing this work? Richie?
