ADC2 overload

Hi All,
Did not find an answer to my problem by searching all messages, so here my question:
I am using ANAN-100D with Rev24 PA+Filter board, FW 12.1.8, Protocol 2, Thetis V2.8.11 x64 MW0LGE 21i.
RX2 is disabled on TX.
I do get an ADC2 overload message on TX in yellow and sometimes in red, even if I reduce the drive to Zero.
When I switch back from TX to RX I can see a signal on the panafall for parts of a second, which is much higher than the signal I see with MON. Is this the rest of the overload signal?
In the setup there is only ADC0 and ADC1 - so what is ADC2 at all?
Is this message dangerous for the hardware or just a programming problem?
As I remember I might have opened the ANAN-100D once when I changed from P1 to P2, but I do not rememer that I have changed any coax run.

Gerhard,

ADC0 and ADC1 are the primary and secondary ADCs, respectively. Unfortunately, in some places they are numbered like this, and in others they are referred to as ADC1 and ADC2, respectively. It's a case of programmers vs. normal people ;)

Is it safe to assume that your previous configuration did not have this problem? What was your previous configuration before this problem arrived?

Scott

Hi Scott,
before I used Protocol 1 and PowerSDR mRX PS V3.4.9.
I just wanted to change to P2.
At the same time I also changed my Hermes from P1 to P2 and there I definitly know that I had to open the housing to set jumpers.
Here at the ANAN-100D I am not sure about this any more. If it was necessary to open it I might have changed a coax run and pick up some stray signals now?
BTW, I changed back to P1 and PowerSDR V3.4.9 last week and got the same results as with Thetis and P2, that means the overload messages. So it seems to be a hardware problem or?
What else should I try or test?

What have you got attached to ADC2? Anything?

Hi,

ADC2 = ADC1 in setup is only connected to DDC1 = RX2. RX BNC is open, or terminated with 50 Ohm or shortcut - all the same result.

I'm coming up dry on this one.

We know it's not a P1 vs. P2 problem.

Did you try a fresh database?

If that fails, maybe a hardware problem?

Hi Gerhard,

can you go online with a video stream so that I can tell you (by phone, skype or whatever you like) how to open the box, change or reroute the cables and assemble the mess in the right way?

Hi Scott,
Yes, I did refresh the database. The only thing is I could not produce a new fft-calculation as this wisdom file is somewhere else to delete.
Yes, I now also think it is a hardware problem.

Hi Norbert,
Will try to be online tomorrow afternoon. Have to think about the proper way.
