Transmit oddity

Several times a day my transmit will start looking like the left side here...normally looks like the right side.
Toggling the Power button on Thetis fixes it. From what I can tell it doesn't appear to be actually transmitting this.
Was happening both with the ANAN 100 and now the 7000DLE MKII too so should be a Thetis problem.
Is is just me or do others have this problem?

I see the same, I just toggle power. I call it a “visual glitch”. On SSB the whole screen goes wide, but I’ve verified it’s definitely not going over the air. Sometimes it will show the TX in the opposite sideband as well, again, just the visual display.

I think it’s something to do with packet sequence or loss that happens. Since I’ve run a lower overall bandwidth and dropped the frame rate (lowers the overall data throughput) and done the network throttling registry key change, I see this far less often.

I too see this "fault". And I have had it happen with different combinations both with Hermes/Apollo and the new Andromeda TRX.

I see this too.
It is random and rare on me.

I've seen this on PowerSDR mRX, also.

However, I don't see it anymore, but I've changed way too many things to know what might be making the difference.

I'll gronk the code and see if anything obvious jumps out....
Sounds like it has to be the internal representation of the data.

I have never seen this oddity.
Running an i7 10700K, 32 GB RAM (Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3600 2X288 DIMM), Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB on an MSI Z490-A PRO LGA 1200 ATX and a Samsung 970 Evo Plus Solid State Drive (SSD) M.2.

I've never seen that on my 7000 running a 5 year old i7-6700K with 16GB RAM and a GTX-970 at 30 FPS, DirectX Normal Priority.

I have not seen this in all the time I have using the 7000dleMk2 here. Even when running the full system in debug mode in Visual Studio 2019.

I take it you dont see anything crazy happen in RX mode? and that you only see this happen when DUP is off during TX.

RIchie.

I see nothing in RX mode. But Duplex is always ON due to Pure Signal. I have suspected that is might have something to do with Pure Signal. But I have never run without PS On for a long time!

I don't use Pure Signal so apparently it's not the cause.

Ive seen this before. I chalk it up to the same type of thing as "The Panadapter of Death" i call it. When you unkey and the RX panadapter goes all the way to the top and you can only hear static. But you can still be heard on TX.

Gotta love these rigs!

The panadapter of death is caused by P2 firmware not fully functioning (timing closure) on your hardware. All you can do is try another version of it.

I've seen this or similar bad TX profile on DUP many times over the years on my 200D when using FT8 TX. For me, this has often been associated with unstable VAC with over/underflows running away on the resampler. Either a reset of the VAC (using Voicemeeter here) or a re-start usually clears this up. Unstable VAC is the biggest problem I have with my 200D set up.

I use my PC for activities other than radio, and Windows 10 overrides the audio routing depending on what it sees fit! I often see a VAC problem on Thetis after using a browser, YouTube, Zoom or Skype etc.
