Thanks
Fred

1) when it goes wrong, is it maximised?
2) Please try it @250% with the window smaller than the display, and drag the window edge to adjust its size slightly

Richie.

Hi Richie if make the window small it still does it if I stretch the window it still does it but if I double click the top bar twice shrink and then maximize it straightens out or if I pull from one screen and back to the other it corrects definitely some type of resizing issue.
one thing I failed to mention is I am on windows 11 so it may be a driver issue.
I have switched that monitor to my onboard video card for now and everything works fine it seems this may be a glitchy Nvidia windows 11 driver which is to be expected right now I guess.
just strange that it had been ok then boom but I guess that's the price we pay for living on the bleeding edge right lol.

Hi Richie,

Looks like with Puresignal enabled, we are missing 'Feedback' and 'Correcting' not displaying most of the time. Not sure if anyone else noticed. I also changed the skin to see if it was something corrupted, but still the same.

Thanks for all your work!

UPDATE 21k5

Some fixes, changes, etc and new patch in post#1. 21k4 did not feature in post#1, but is obviously included with 21k5. Unless something is broken, next update will be Friday before the weekend as long as everything goes ok. It is rumoured that something may be happening to the meter(s).

Richie.

21k5
fix: prevented agc sliders move on mox if auto agc system on
fix: very old bug in resize code that under some conditions would prevent the display from rendering. Display would freeze until another resize happened. This was noticed when doing some 250% desktop scale tests.
fix: auto agc considers calibration offsets, fixes problems with 6m, xvtr, etc
fix: issues with rx2 G- slider fixed (previously using rx1 sample rate in calcs)
change: some functions in wdsp modified to balance leavecritical sections (identified by VisualStudio code analysis)
change: noise floor line drawn similar to G- and H- lines
change: noise foor now also calculated if only waterfall shown
change: when switching bands, or moving more than 500kHz from centre frequency, or changing attenuation, noise floor estimation will go into 'fast attack' for 3 seconds, during which it will show as grey if you have it shown on the panadapter. During this time no agc changes are made
change: old varRatio initialisation changes. This may be removed in future as quote for Warren : [I don't think it will help much to try to set 'var'. It is frequently recalculated in the code; so, whatever it's set to will disappear quickly.]
add: noise floor display options in setup->appearance->rx display

21k4
fix: fixed var ratios fixed flag which were incorrectly reset on a ringmatch create
change: if using fixed var ratio, the var ratio displayed in vac monitor will reflect this fixed value, as it is the value used by the variable resampler

That sounds fantastic :-)

21k5 is up & running. Works like a charm!

Richie,
In reality, the PI doesn't add any functionality to Thetis and to fix it would be a waste of time.
I doubt anybody gives a hoot whether it works or not, so why not just remove it all together.
It will free up some space for other fantastic features that you have yet to dream up.

For troubleshooting reasons it would be nice to see the state (s/b) of any relais. I like the idea of a xml definition. But there is way more to code. For example a waterfall agc :-)

My noise floor display is reading the same on both RX1 and RX2 Even though my rx2 is 15 db lower on Pano. (wellbrook Loop)

Anyone else? Or am I missing setting something up.

hah, no you are not. It is always displaying RX1 value. Will be fixed next release. The value being sent to the AGC is correct though.

Thanks Todd.

Running version 21k3. For the last couple of updates Thetis doesn't remember changes to the Virtual Audio Cable Setup on the Audio tab.
What's strange is if I update the driver and have to restart Thetis in a couple of minutes the change is remembered but will not be there the next day. I think this started around version 21i. Thanks.

I take it you are saving the tx profile if you have [Restore VACn device details from TX Profile] turn on, because if you have that turned on, and change the device, then restart, it will pull up the one assigned to the profile.
_or_
Is the device name changing the next day or something like that?

R.

Ritchie,
I looked at my settings and while I had "restore VAC1 device details from TX profile" "Auto Save...." was not checked. So I will try that and see if that solves the issue. Thanks.

@George ok great, it is probably that the profile did not have the correct device assigned

@va3cxp I think that was just a glitch in the matrix, as noting changed related to that in any of the j/k releases. Glad it is resolved though ;)

Waterfall AGC with noise floor compensation works great. It takes ~2s on band change to adjust the waterfall.
Unfortunatly on TX (or after release ptt) it takes also this time to go back to the adjusted waterfall low level.

yeah, most of the time, when coming out of mox the spectrum is very different to receive for half a second or so. I think due to the averaging system or something like that in the analyser. At the moment it will only go into fast attack mode when coming out of mox if the att has changed which it will do most of the time due to PS etc, i'll probably force it when coming out of mox, just to let everything settle for a few seconds.

note: whilst it is in 'fast attack' the line will be grey, and it will use regular waterfall agc

Maybe you can "freeze" the last value of the averaged noise floor (during transmit) and use this right after mox released?

Hi R, thanks again! everything works very nicely with k6.

One little thing, i wish we could change the colour of the AGC slider knob when it's in AUTO mode.
I love to use Ernst's Yeasu skin but that has also green slider knobs. Can't see the difference well between auto and manual.

Hi Richie,

Version 21k6 is running great here. Thanks for the change to the noise foor line. It's easy to see and fits in with the gain and hang lines perfectly. No anomalies noted except for a cosmetic item that showed up with the addition of the xPA button. If a skin uses the panelOptions.png as a background behind the upper left cluster of buttons it may repeat one line using the top of that graphic. The simple fix if it annoys someone is to rename the panelOptions.png file to panelOptions_.png to prevent loading that graphic.

Image

Gary, the term foor is widely accepted on the west coast so you need to get up-to-speed with that!

Hey all, just a quick view of some CFC visuals, thanks to Warren for adding functions to the WDSP dll and making all this possible.

The meter update wont be in this Friday's update, another week(ish) needed.

Tried doing the updates but didn't work (never got the pop up window when pressing control then thetis. So uninstalled Thetis and am trying to reinstall from a fresh start. Of course installing latest version of Thetis

Now when I start the install process I get an error that says the K3VIg skins can't be found (or something like that). And I can't get past this. Odd since I did have Thetis installed. Any hints?

Computer is W10 and was running Thetis fine before.

Thanks
