Waterfall on Quiet Bands

I like to use the LinAuto setting for the waterfall palette. This is fine on the lower frequency bands where there is some noise or some level of signal activity.
When I go to a higher, quiet band with only light activity and no noise the waterfall background automatically adjusts per lack of noise / signal level. In short, a quiet band displays a lot of background in the waterfall. When a sufficient signal appears anywhere on the band, the rest of the waterfall drops back to very little noise / color in the background.
Is there a combination of settings that will overcome this action of the waterfall with LinAuto? In absence of such, is there an alternate palette and settings that can yield a waterfall display more similar to what I see on the noisier bands with the LinAuto palette?
