The little square indicates that you are dropping frames. Go to the Display tab in setup and make sure that you switch to Direct X for your driver engine. You may find that you can set your refresh rate as high as 60 fps when Direct X is enabled. The panadapter and waterfall run much more smoothly with Direct X and you may notice a drop in your CPU utilization for Thetis. If you find that switching to Direct X does not stop the little square from flashing, you might need to lower your fps setting until it stops.

Thank you so much Rob. I was running directX already (which I had to enable as it had not been default). My issue was likely due to some background tabs opened in Edge (Chrome clone) browser. I lowered from 60 to 30 the fps and removed the red squares, but it did make me more aware of the demands of the software....

BTW, running this while operating portable via a Surface 7 Pro tablet. i5 with 8gb ram... not bad....

Re: Problems With PS in Thetis (Attched Video)

Hello all, Dennis vk4sx, received 7000dle MKII yesterday, no pc embedded,
I have a similar issue to Larry, not quite as involved,
PC is Optiplex i7 4770 20gb DDR5, ssdhdd,
Clean Install of Protocol 2,
install of Thetis 2.6.9,
Audio set up as per Thetis Manual 110-116, through,
I am experiencing audio POPS while in MON Mode, OR TUN mode with PS2 activated,
NO Audio Pops thru MON and missing audio with Normal MON circuit in SSB or TUNE mode, with NO PS2,
when I engage TUN & PS2 I see ATTENUATOR default back to 0
along with missing audio and a popping noise thru MON circuit using MIC IN or TUN function'
TUN & SSB MIC IN audio is fine with OUT PS2 activate,
I see the PS2 Correction applet changing colour Red, Yellow Green
PLus I see a RED Msg appear on the middle of the screen depicting this msg,
unsure if jpg appeared need to check,
msg is,

So have you actually read this thread and acted upon the guidance it provides? If you do it will likely fix all your issues.

well maybe I have found it, it appears to be related to GUI size on Screen which would point to Graphics driver or chipset?

if I make GUI full screen I see the RED msg etc,
reduce screen size and NO ISSUE with audio Popping etc,
Plus if you have TOMTOM Connect running, it is sapping netframe,
GPU is AMD 8750 for SFF, drivers are up to date, can not tie anything else to it,

go to FULL SCREEN audio pops in MON and RED msg regarding MIC, ANY screen size other then FULL SCREEN, results in everything working 100%
will keep and eye on, just thought I would mention it in case others have seen similar.
OPTIPLEX i7 4770 3.4Ghz
24gb DDR5, SSD hdd
AMD 8750 2gb

The audio popping in MON was only present in PS ? with Changing colours, red, yellow , Green, plus red msg,
ONLY in Full Screen?
turn off PS no audio popping in TX in MON , FULL SCREEN.
Reduce Screen size, activate PS no Changing PS colours or RED msg in middle of screen?
Go to FULL SCREEN 24" activate PS I see red . Yellow , Green flashing correction etc with RED txt msg,
REDUCE screen size, ACTIVE PS and nothing all works as should,
sound strange, Yes but that is what it is doing, so i have loaded new AMD graphic drives, but still same if I go to FULL SCREEN with PS active?
if I leave screen size ,LESS then full screen all ok in PS mode,
Strange Yes,
FULL SCREEN , small RED square top left cnr, audio popping, flashing PS corrections,
Reduce Screen size PS active NO audio popping etc,
when I reduce screen size other then Full Screen, I do not see red square?
but PS is working etc, with out audio issues,

Dennis,

Your posts have nothing to do with PureSignal.

You are overloading your CPU with too high a frame rate on your spectral display. That is what the red square means. Go to Setup > Display > General and make sure you are running DirectX. Then lower the main display FPS setting until the red square no longer appears.

Ok Scott I had already switched to DIRECTX from GD+ still seeing this weird happening after I updated AMP drivers,
only appearing in Full Screen mode? it appears to be tied to the screen resolution 1920x1200, when I go to 1920 X 1080 OR 1680 X 1080 everything works,
maybe Video card crook? I have 2gb INTEL chipset gpu here, I will swap later,
what do you think,?
Cheers
