CW QSK with the 7000

Postby Tom AA4VV » Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:32 am

I have a 7000 and would like to run QSK.

Firmware : Metis_Orion_MkII_Protocol_2_v2.0b

Software : latest Thetis beta. 2.7.0 (3/1/20)

When I try QSK it doesn't recover fast enough from TX to be considered QSK in my opinion.

In true QSK I should be able to hear signals between characters or certainly between words in CW.

I have set the filters to minimum latency. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks

Thanks Helmut.

I must be doing something wrong. In QSK mode and AGC set to CUSTO as you suggested,l it takes the RX
about 1 - 2 seconds to recover from a sending of a dot.
I did cycle the AGC as you suggested.

The original release notes for QSK operation are here:

Not sure that will fix your problem, but thought it might be worth posting.

Will the same settings work to get the Transmit / Receive switching time low for DIGU in FT8?

Thanks
