Thetis 1/24/2020 Latency Issue

Postby w2gs » Fri Feb 21, 2020 1:23 pm

I loaded the 24 Jan Thetis update along with the 10 Feb .rbf a couple of days ago. CW latency was bad enough that this update was unusable on either my A7K or A8K. There was also clicking with each CW element sent. I tried both QSK and semi breakin and the problems was the same. I went back to the 24 Dec release and the pre8.rbf and performance was as expected. Also the way the QSK button and CW settings on the 24 Dec version was much better. The latest version show QSK as a white box until the mouse is hovered over it.

Any other reports on this problem?

Please upgrade the firmware but leave Thetis alone so that we can tell if this is a firmware or software problem.

Hi Scott,
Reloaded the 10 Feb .rbf with the 24 Dec Thetis. Semi breakin worked without a problem. In QSK there were clicks with every element sent. I went back to the pre8 .rbf and the same result; semi breakin worked no latency and QSK had clicks. I don't normally run QSK so I never noticed a problem before I tried 24 Jan Thetis and the 10 Feb .rbf. That's when I had the latency problem with semi breakin and tried QSK to see if it was any better and found the click issue. Hope this makes sense! There are a lot of moving parts. Let me know if you any questions.

Since there was no difference in behavior between the two different firmware loads, that implies it is not a firmware problem, and therefore this discussion does not belong in a firmware sub-forum.

Moving it to the Thetis sub-forum...
