UPDATE

Hi all,

Just a quick update, last one for a while from me as I am a tad busy atm. I am planning on working on a dockable configurable s-meter when I get back to development perhaps end of Jan sometime in Feb. This is going to be used as the starter 'project' to get a feel for the docking 'way of things'. Then start to migrate controls/rx1/rx2 into dockable windows that still 'look the same' for the Andromeda project, but can be moved resized etc when not in Andromeda mode. After that is complete, wb conversion to directX, and the N receiver model.

Please try : https://www.dropbox.com/s/nsq1u1u5ju2iu ... 3.zip?dl=0

In the mean time, keep testing, have fun and enjoy the radio. Source is going off to Doug where he has quite a few more additions to add from others :)

Also, thanks Gary for finding the CTun panascope issue. Was a quick thing to fix thankfully.

73 for now, Richie.

(1/4/20) c3
-change: qso audio playback started from own thread
-fix: rx filter drag when in CTUN for panascope now works as expected (note can still drag the area with the scope, this needs fixing at some point)

If you do add more capability to the timer may I throw my druthers in?

1. Once enabled, synchronizes to the next 10 minute, so that it can ID on the 10's.
2. Auto start the timer on your first PTT.

The 2.6.9c3 MSI is now on Doug's GitHub page, but no release notes to determine what additions to this c3 were added from Ritchie's c3 :(

The release on Doug's repo is all of Richie's work to date, plus the following:

- Tri-mode QSK button to consolidate control of CW break-in mode: OFF, Semi, QSK. The QSK mode only shows up if it's Orion or Orion MKII hardware (200D and newer radios).
- Right clicking many (but not all) of the controls on the main UI brings up the relevant setup tab.
- Additional changes to support the Andromeda project (no details, but you can check this work out by going to Collapse display mode and turning on Andromeda controls)

Scott

That is pretty cool, thanks for the release cliff notes.

I am using 2.6.9 c3. Before thetis I had a memory list of about 25 frequencies and names. Yesterday I tried to load a new fx and name in Memory and it took the fx but also put the fx in the name column. I clicked on the name column to put the name in and it would not let me change it. Clicking on the memory row would put the saved fx in the fx window of the unit.

On my laptop I have 2.6.9 c3 and the memory function works fine - I enter the fx and then the name. Both pc are running Windoze 10.

I have saved and reinstalled data base, rebooted pc, and radio but no changes. Any suggestions why I cannot get the memory function working in my main pc? 73, Bill, WA2DVU

I really like the right-click menu access on the appropriate GUI button. What a great idea!

2.6.9 is officially released, with installer:

https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/releases

We can continue to use this topic to record bugs and such. Richie is taking a little hiatus in order to do some unimportant things like earn a living and stuff like that. He'll let us know when he's re-engaging. In the meantime, Thetis is a very nice step up from PowerSDR mRX if you can get Protocol 2 firmware to run smoothly on your hardware.

2.6.9 Re-released!

Thetis v2.6.9 was re-released with a 25Jan20 date. The use of 'QSK' on the 200D was omitted in the original release.

Awesome. Hopefully more folks will start to use protocol 2. Is there going to be anymore firmware updates for the Orion MK1 or is it maxed out?

Erwin, go into Windows Control Panel > Uninstall programs and uninstall any Thetis you see there. Then run the 25 Jan MSI

I had a similar issue until I did this. All my databases and settings remained so there were no issues.

The price you have to pay by getting to play with beta releases, but well worth it.

So now we know that this is not a one off issue, so anyone installing the latest MSI you may want to uninstall any versions of Thetis that Windos thinks are installed, and then install the latest version.

Back up what you need (you always should be anyways) just in case but it seems that everything is retained.

Hi guys,

the Thetis version 2.6.9 (1/25/20) is absolutely unusable for cw operation. I get massive extra dots and dashes using SEMI. I am cw keying with a bunch of ETM keyers (4C, 8C, 9COG-X3). I don't wanna use QSK on the 2 m band with xvtr and power amp, so I tried QSK on 10 m, doesn't work too.

It feels like a cw key with dot/dash memory. I always disable dot/dash memory on cw keys! I can't key with it.

PTT by spacebar and foot switch doesn't work. Using sideton give a kind of double sidetone. Very annoying!!!

I have to go back to the latest Richie-version :-(

Hi All,

APF (RX1) remains ON, when the mode is changed from CW to LSB/USB. Not sure if I am missing something here.

Tnx

I'm using the new c3, 25 Jan edition, on my 200D.

The sidetone volume with the QSK button's OFF setting is much louder than the sidetone in SEMI or QSK mode. Almost 20 dB louder, according to my quick-and-dirty SPL measurement from the station speaker. Also, when I uncheck the Sidetone checkbox, there is no sidetone but there are loud thumps at the beginning of each key-down period, as if a DC level was being applied.

I notice that the sidetone volume can be controlled in Setup > Transmit tab > Monitor TX AF. This control works in SEMI and QSK, but in OFF mode it has no effect. The sidetone audio path must be different.

This issue may have been present before c3. It's only now that I'm noticing it because the new CW Break-In OFF setting can be used to practice keying with zero RF emissions, and I was looking forward to using it for this purpose.

Helmut,

I testet just the Spacebar for PTT, i must mark on General-Option 1: Keybord... Enable Shortcuts

Without this the Spacebar will not work.

edith: this Box was def. checked in previus Versions.

Hi Norbert !
How is the transverter function working on your system ?
I was never able to disable the PA in any Thetis version in tranverter mode. (Win 10 pro. I7- 24 Go RAM.500 Go SSD- Orion mark 1 reboxed ANAN 200D)
I am tired of reinstalling Thetis, as new versions show up. Having full power output from the PA & having to dissipate it in a dummy is not an option.

Hi All

I gave It another try to day as I am now retired I have more time.
Reflashed FW 1.8 (ANAN 200D) then deleted all Thetis files in AppData/Roaming/OpenHPSDR before installing
Thetis _v2.6.9.0_25Jan20.msi.

No luck : after redoing setup from scratch I have still the same mess.
As soon as I touched the XVTRs menu to enter a transverter everything gets messy :

- the band change keyboard gets extremely sluggish and and does not show the right band.
- the main frequency display freezes ....
- and there is still power output despite PA disable checked in XVTR.
- after attempting to change resolution (on the bottom scroll menu) I had no dysplay at all and
I got a phantom Thetis running which showed the error message "an instance of Thetis already runnin etc".
This instance was not even shown in the task manager. When I uninstalled Thetis Win10 asked to close
this ghost...
After reinstallation and resetting the database, Thetis runs again but the XVTR function is not working
as it should. (power output from the PA still there)
I found out that some skins do not work properly : only the basic skins are OK.

Going back to PowerSDRmRx...

Hi Phil,

I use a ANAN-7000DLE with a Kuhne TR144-PRO, IF 28 MHz. Two IF-cables connecting XVTR (out, SMA connector) with IF-in on the xvtr and XVTR IN (BNC connector) with IF-out on the xvtr.

Settings are as shown on the screenshots.

No problems here! PA is switched of. I used the LT2S xvtr with my old ANAN-200D, but I don't know if I tried procotol 2 with this combo.
