The change from milliseconds to frames on the waterfall update rate threw me for a minute! I couldn't figure out why it was going so slooooooow

hah yes, bit slow with high numbers. Was thinking about going back to ms and do the reverse calculation, and round to frame rate interval, but left as is for now.

UPDATE

Small update to add option to disable/enable the VAC bypass changes related to recording playback when vac is enabled.

Link : https://www.dropbox.com/s/z4d5bx6nhhbgp ... 6.zip?dl=0

If VAC is being used and you want to use recording playback this needs to be checked on. This may be a stop gap solution and may change. If you use direct connection of mic etc to the hardware then with this option checked gain does not work on the wave window. @Michel uncheck this.

Hmmm ...
with the new box no change from -70dB to + 70dB, only affects the VAC
test with old database and reset

hmm.. must have something else happening then, because the code changes are 'removed' if that checkbox is unchecked

I will double check it

Hi Michel,

Code related to vacbypass is now entirely ignored if check that checkbox is disabled, so code will be as it was before. If it doesn't work now, then all I can do is.... *shrug* :)

After using it for a while, I must say the waterfall is much smoother with this approach! :)

Tnx Richie.
The Record/Playback feature works great here , also with VOX !!!
The Anan is located elsewhere on my LAN so in the station is just the Mic and Dj Console.
It's great to have that feature operating agn.
Tnx agn for your support.

Hi Richie!

It seems that the MIC gain is not adjustable since versions higher than b_2. I am back to b_2 and MIC gain is adjustable.

I used a clean database to check that!

Odd, fine here, though I dont use direct connect. Not done anything to the mic gain code either. hmm. You are replacing all the files not just thetis.exe right? I will try a fresh db here as well, but would expect it to be ok.

Edit : Yep, fine here on b5_3 and with me deleting the database and letting it build a new one (using vac).

I changed all files. I did another try, from b5_1 up to b5_3 and changed to my xmit profile again and all is well with b5_3. Very strange!!!!!

Sorry for false alarm! Edit: Hmmm, not a false alarm?

MIC gain works with my TX profile, but not with "Default" and "Default DX" here. I will start again with clean database.

I use a headset plugged into the front jacks for SSB and VAC only for digital modes (MSK144, FSK441, FT8...).

I also have the same non functional mic gain problem since version 2.6.9 B2 and up and TX Gain (dB) Wave menu still does not work with the latest 2.6.9b5-3

Richie, did u change something around the VAC1 TXGain? I am almost sure that last month when I used digital modes via VAC the VAC1 TXGain was set to 0, but today I tried Thetis for MSK144 (meteorscatter) I had to turn up the gain to >30dB to get a signal strong enough to drive my PA.

Thanks again for all, Richie :-) Have a good night...

no other than this recent vacbypass for recording playback, it was the first time I have been in the 'audio' code. I ran a diff on it and compared it to a version way back to the 18th of Nov, and nothing has changed. The issue fixed in this test version was preventing any gain being applied if vac was turned off, but it should be ok now, it is amazing what a missing ! can do ;) Just glad it wasnt something heading to an asteroid, lol.

Can anyone else duplicate this? Using 200D Firmware 1.8. Thetis 2.69 B1 or B5:

If QSK is turned on Tx power goes to whichever RX antenna is selected 1,2, or 3 even with Ant 1 checked as TX and check boxes
under ANT 2 and 3 for do not transmit on those antennas.
I duplicated on a Windows 10 and Widows 7 different desktop PC. Hope this is not intended operation. I only use CW for TX power calibrate and tuning normally.

Hi Tom, I will take a quick look tomorrow to see if anything obvious is happening in the code. Is this a recent issue since b1? or does it happen in 2.6.7 or 2.6.8 ? It might be something in firmware, but will look at the Thetis part tomorrow.

73 for now

Waterfall delay has changed. In setup>display>rx1/2 set waterfall frame interval to 2 or whatever you want. A setting of 2 means that the waterfall is updated every 2nd frame. So waterfall updates are now directly based on the FPS timing. if you have 60fps selected for example, the waterfall set for every 3rd frame, you will end up with a delay between each waterfall update equal to (1000ms / 60fps) * 3 = 50ms.

Change logs explain it, as does big post somewhere a version or so up from here in this thread.

Tom, I confirm this behavior on my 200D (rev 24 RF board). It occurs, as you say, only with QSK on. Full transmit power goes to the receive antenna selected (Setup > General > Ant/Filters > Antenna), This occurs even though
- the DO Not TX checkboxes are checked for Ant 2 or Ant 3.
- The Transmit antenna is selected to be Ant 1

I'm using Thetis b5_1, but I suspect this issue is not related to the beta experiments we're working on in this thread, but is related to the QSK function that was added to Thetis a while ago. The TX and RX antenna functionality appears to work correctly with QSK off.

I do not yet use a separate receive antenna. For anyone who does, this is a very serious issue.

Chris, W2PA, was the developer of the QSK improvements for the Orion and Orion MKII boards (which work fabulously well, BTW).

Perhaps he will chime in on this issue.
