Happy Friday Richie,
I hope you're feeling good this morning!
After trying Thetis_1740_241019_d4 this morning, all I can say is: this is the best, most reliable, fluid and smoother experience I've had with Thetis to date.
Congratulations! You have done a magnificent work improving this program and I'm grateful for that.
However, there's still two issues that are not fixed yet. It has to do with Thetis unreliable PureSignal performance running the ANAN 100B and 10E radios and Network Watchdog which keeps Thetis from disconnecting every 3 to 5 minutes for 1 second from the radio. I hope you could sort these out soon.
In the meantime, I would love to see some new features and improvements added to Thetis:
1. Making the space between Panadapter and Waterfall adjustable up and down as SDR Console and many other programs do already.
2. Making the Waterfall follow Panadapter straight, without bending or smearing the waterfall, while tuning (scrolling) VFO left to right with CTUN disabled as Zeus Radio does it already.
3. Making Thetis UI skin compatible with Windows 10 High Contrast (Black theme) mode.
That's it for now. Keep up the good work Richie!
73, Manny K0MO

All,
Unless it is a UI issue, and unless Richie says otherwise, no more about PureSignal in this topic. You can start a new topic if you like. Unless you can show that PureSignal works for you in a previous version of Thetis but not in a current version then your problem is with firmware.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Ritchie,
D4 i get the same Error. D4-1 (first version) works great for mey, also on 160m no Problems, PS is also working very good with AutoATT. Great Job, many, many thanks!!

Hi Richie,
A couple of small bugs to report, and some thoughts about the WB display...
Small bugs:
- With CTUN enabled, occasionally when I switch bands, or when I start up the app, the display will center on the passband instead of on the frequency that it was originally centered on. I don't have an exact sequence to reproduce, I'm afraid.
- The state of Fwd/SWR metering mode for TUN is not being stored and had to be reset every time I start the app.
- 60M band stacks are messed up (I think you know about this one already)
US frequency allocations for 60M are as follows:
60-meter_Band_Channel_Allocation.png (25.29 KiB) Viewed 20090 times
Thoughts about WB display:
- The display blanks after resize. Work-around is to close/open the window. - Window existence is not remembered on start-up (although size and location is). Work-around is to open it manually after start-up. - It probably needs to be coded up for DirectX. - It would be very nice if there was a way to pan/zoom the frequency scale, and adjust the amplitude scale. Even if these were just adjustments in a setup window tab that would be a huge improvement.
Thanks, Richie. You continue to make an incredible impact on the usability of Thetis! Saving of current state and settings is now blazingly fast!

Scott

Hi all and Ritchie,
Sorry forget it: Version is now d4-2
I get also the Error on the WB Display, if I make the Window bigger no Problem, but if I make it much smaller it chrashed with this Window when I minimized the WB Display:

It is a long Text, so here only the little Pic. When I click Quit Thetis closed. After restart Thetis it is not on the Band as before the Crash.

D4_2 is working good, only change I dont enjoy is the fact that the Zero line on the Panadapter is now on top of the data line. Before you could see the signal on top of the zero line. So now its covering up someones carrier. Its hard to see weak carriers now and know if someone has keyed up, or someone is done talking. I switched back to D2 because I work a lot of AM and weak signal AM. Maybe a slider can be put in the appearance tab controlling the strength of the zero line? Also, ive noticed that the special panafall mode hasnt been working for many updates. I just keep saying something about it. I appreciate the hard work Richie. Thanks.

Not sure when this appeared but I momentarily loose the left most Fine Vertical Grid lines until the next freq label shows up. This only seems to happen around the 2X zoom using a 384K sample rate.
Here is a short video of what I mean, take a look at the left most Fine Vertical Grid lines:

Hi,
All issues noted. Have been busy since last release so nothing done, but will look at the problems this week, including some logging around seq errors.
Richie.

Hi Richie, Just a quick note. Ever since I have used D1, I notice a change in the band stacking frequencies. All frequencies are fine until I turn on RX2 and add the SYNC VFO button. I then notice that some of the band stacking frequencies change by 400 Hz down. This is the same frequency that I use for CW pitch or offset on my Anan. This frequency change only occurs when both receivers are on and SYNC VFO is activated! If you continue to go through the band stacking buttons, the frequency will continue to go lower. I am sure this is just a simple code glitch. Thanks, Chas

Hi
In an effort to debug/look at the sequence numbers of inbound UDP packets, I have quickly added a SEQ log window. This is what is happening...
1) every packet coming in for dcc0-7 has a sequence number. A delta from received number vs expected is logged, in a ring buffer of 40 slots. A delta of 0 signifies the packet number received is the one expected
2) whenever there is a seq error, a snapshot of that ring buffer is made, 20 snapshots in total, with the newest being s0
Still work to do on presentation of the info, and being able to switch between delta and packet number. I have used app called 'clumsy 0.2' to simulate problems.
Richie.

Hi Richie,
Nice work! It will be very interesting to see what the "real world" log will look like after clumsy is turned off and the un-tampered packets are streaming in.

Hi Bryan, yes it will be. I am seeing loss here from time to time, which undoubtedly is the hotchpotch of switches, 10gbit, 1gbig and 100mbit links in this place The following when I hit two tone, with ps-a on. 100 lost
Just a WIP build, that hopefully fixes some annoying issues. Includes the initial pass of SEQ logging. The 'special panafall' mode wont return until the displays are 'split' and the mid point of each can be dragged up/down.
Richie.
(10/7/19) d5
change: restored plot order for panadapter, grid before data, undoes d4 change
fix: vertical in between (minor) lines now drawn if lower major line is off left edge of spectrum
fix: US 60m channelised bandstack now works as intended. Changes will only be saved if on an expected slot frequency unless using ‘extended’ mode. If you click 60m when not on a channelised frequency, the closest one will be selected. This is all previous behaviour.
add: band stack add to 60m for regions other than US
fix: VFOBfreq and CTUN state now recovered, not previously read back in
fix: on app start and CTUN enabled rx passband will be on correct frequency and display will be in previous position
fix: wideband minimize and resize issues fixed
add: first pass of SEQ logging, access through Setup->Tests->Show SEQ log button. Just plain text at the moment. Numbers are delta from expected sequence number expected. 40 slot ring buffer per DCC0-7. When SEQ error occurs (ie not expected next in sequence) a snapshot of that buffer is taken. 20 snapshots in total, s0 being most recent.
No fixes - nofix: state of Fwd/SWR metering mode for TUN is not being stored and had to be reset every time I start the app... This is stored per TX profile. As tx profile is applied after all settings are read in, the setting stored with the currently selected TX profile is used. This is the same issue with the store of drive level. Do we want to ignore or use the profile? We can’t really do both. May need something that tracks change that is also covered by a profile and warns user that setting will be lost unless profile saved? - nofix: With CTUN enabled, occasionally when I switch bands display is centred on passband instead of frequency... Could not replicate - nofix: - since I have used D1, I notice a change in the band stacking frequencies. All frequencies are fine until I turn on RX2 and add the SYNC VFO button. I then notice that some of the band stacking frequencies change by 400 Hz down. This is the same frequency that I use for CW pitch or offset on my Anan... Could not replicate, possibly fixed by rework of US bandstack

One thing I noticed and not sure if this can be changed or not. When you PAN the waterfall and pan adapter freezes until you stop panning. It would be great if this can be changed so the display is live during panning.

probably Nicholas. note: there is an issue I am tracking down atm, when typing in frequency into vfo box.... it does nothing

errr odd, you using d5? I can type one in, but if i press enter it doesn't change. The issue is a bit tricky to resolve. Exploring options atm. Text box contents is not updated until focus is lost in windows forms, and recent changes to lost focus for vfoA/B now do not directly access contents of the textbox, so it is a chicken egg issue. Time to make an omelette
Richie.
