Hi All,

I'm running Thetis v2.8.8 (x64) here. It works great with FW v2.0b.
I've just had SEQ ERROR, then I report it. My PC is equipped with i5-3570K. My Orion MKII is directly connected to the PC.

Hi,
as Scott mentioned here viewtopic.php?f=32&t=3571&p=12403&hilit=seq+error#p12403
there is no longer a need to report seq errors.

Scott, you've stated elsewhere that you've turned off Seq Error reporting. Where can I find such a toggle?

Thanks,
Mark

The set up: Anan 7000dle Mk2
Thetis V 2.8.9
CPU older i7 running at 2.89Ghz or such
W10

Was having lots of sequence errors which caused audio glitches.
To solve this I used a windows program called prio (can get it, or one that does the same thing here: https://www.raymond.cc/blog/permanently ... with-prio/

It works in conjunction with task manager. Right click on the task, change priority, and done. I changed Thetis to high vs normal and, so far, no more sequence errors. The link has several other programs to choose from.

Prio is supposed to make the changes permanent which isn't the default with Task Manager.

Prio is free and small.

Hope this helps someone!

Another update on sequence errors and audio glitches.

A while back I upgraded my computer to a gen 4 or 5 I7 processor. eliminated most issues but, when web pages were updated or accessed, still had some very short audio glitches. Not an issue except when contesting.

Today I installed a SSD that I cloned from my other rotating drive. So far, in very preliminary testing (accessing several web pages) the audio glitches are gone.

I will continue to monitor this to see if the simple change of moving to the ssd solves this issue. If it does, its a very low cost solution.

By the way, I used the free program, AOMEI backup to clone the drives. The free version does this without issue.

If it is after updating Windows 10 to version 20H2, take a look at:

I had one Windows10 update on 5/1/2021 called 2004 forx64 based systems (KB4023057).
This being 5/8/2021 seems like it just started one or two days ago, but started getting another SEQ error closer to the Win10 update that is intermittent and lasts a fraction of a second causing receive audio dropouts. My audio is analog, I do not use VAC. Would the fixes EA3AQR posted still help my issues?
Thx

The network throttling registry key change could help possibly. All the data, visual and audio goes to and from the computer and any jitter or packet loss affects either/both.

I made the Network Throttling Index change in Windows 10 registry and all of the SEQ errors have ended. :-)
Thx to all,

Carl, can you be more specific?
If you can post the registry change, I think, who is skilled enough to change this value, can solve networking issues.

Before I do....one thing bugging me is my Cat5e cable going downstairs to my router around 30ft. Ive been thinking about installing a seperate intel gigabit network card in my PC (configuring as per Rob w1aex) and then running a short cat6/7 cable to the 7000dle mkii. Could this improve my chances or is it wishful thinking?

TIA

Hi Paul,
I'm sorry to be responding so late to your question but I just happened across it. My hope is that I might help others that pop a question like yours.

With a 7000DLE MkII and after an upgrade to P2, I started having the dreaded SEQ ERRs also. Putting the additional network card in the computer and giving the 7000 it's own connection was the solution that worked for me, that is along with the Registry mod that controls Windows "THROTTLING" Here's what I did and the result:

Homebrew Desktop : i9-11900K 32G Asus MB NVMe 500G Samsung Windows 10 and 11 Fixed IP's on most devices.

1. Replaced the switches in my home network ---> No help
2. Reconfigured Home network. Put switch at each location that had network devices connected (3) Star connected to router. ---> No Help
3. Replaced 5E network cables with Cat 7 cables ---> No help
4. Tried different Firmware (P2) versions (No issues with P1) Various probs with other P2 versions ---> No help
5. Dropped in Intel Network card and connected 7000 to it . Fixed IP's --- Reduced SEQ ERRs to almost zero!
6. Changed Windows Registry "throttling" setting ---> Eliminated SEQ ERRs entirely.

I also tried using an Intel NUC and attached 7000 to regular RJ45 Gigabit port AND used Remote Desktop connection VIA WiFi back to HB desktop. (worked very very well)

I'm sure that you got it running because you were headed in the right direction. Other's may just be starting.

HI Larry !

I did the NIC some time ago and followed Robs W1AEX in the most part on my win10 machine. Using 2.0b FW, I still had some errors then I moved the radio from the desk to a shelf BUT with a 3" hole beneath the fan. I did the throttling index mod kindly provided by Jordi and Scott and the latest Thetis...........poooof gone!!. Of course now our own resident genius MW0LGE has added it into Thetis as an option.

Glad to hear you are all set with your 7000DLE and thank you for reaching out and explaining for others.

I have a 7000DLE MKII with the network cable connected directly to my laptop. I never get a sequence error, until I start up Ham Radio Deluxe; then I get multiple sequence errors. I don't know if there is something that I can do in setting for Thetis or Ham Radio Deluxe that would do abate the sequence errors. Fortunately, the sequence errors do not appear to affect the functionality of the radio.
