Thetis 2.6.5 released

https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/releases

This is a small maintenance release to fix the following high priority bugs:

1. PowerSDR style exit--Thetis now exits like PowerSDR does. Be aware Thetis does take a while to close, just like PowerSDR. Therefore if you try to restart Thetis quickly you will get the "Thetis is already running" warning, again just like with PowerSDR. But at least everything is more graceful.

2. TX recording crash fix--Thetis will no longer crash when recording while transmitting.

3. Rogue bad packet fix--Thetis will no longer crash on receipt of a malformed or misaddressed UDP packet. This should eliminate the "crash on TX" problem. Those who were plagued by this using Orion MKII firmware 1.9 may wish to try 1.9 again.

Coming soon in the next release are some fixes for non-US users: the dreaded "comma" numeric format bug, and some issues associated with funny/out-of-band VFO settings at initial startup.

Scott

Hello Scott,
With the earlier version of Thetis - 2.64 (1st version out), I could use the highest sampling rate with no glitches at all. I can not get any higher than 384 with the newer Thetis versions. This is the case with 8000 - 1.8 and 1.9 firmware. I was trying to post (Dropbox) some of the Thetis code changes that I made in the console and setup areas when I found this. I searched in the code some but have not found anything yet. I did go back and start with clean newer version, none of my changes, and same problem. I even did a database reset with same scenario. I will look into more when I can. Thanks to all for all of the hard work on these many upgrades, much appreciated.

Thanks and 73’s
Joe

Hi Scott,

I wasn’t aware that OrionI-II P2 v1.9 still suffered from the tx/rx crash problem. All that went away for W2SDR and me once we went to 1.9.

Hi all,

using f/w 1.9 and Thetis 2.6.5 on my 7000DLE. No problems so far, except of the frequency warning at 1st start of Thetis.

Got all of 5 minutes on it, but 2.6.5 and 1.9 on an 8000 are good to go so far. Running 768KHz sample rate on both receivers.

Running 200D Rev24/Thetis 2.6.5/NP 1.8

Issues with PI:

PI never shows path to Ext1 or Ext2 or Xvert Rx.
Does not indicate changes from Ant1 to Ant2 to Ant3 unless Ext1/2 or Xvert is toggled or RX mode/Tx mode is toggled.

Otherwise Thetis 2.6.5/NP 1.8 is a good replacement for PowerSDR mRX 3.4.9.

Thanks to the developers.

PI is not fully functional.

Have you tried 1.9?

First report: I have only been up with 2.6.5 for two days now but I am very pleased. I am no longer seeing the "seq" errors and can confirm that PS does seem to be working noticeably better than under P1. Signal reports from friends who are used to my signal and PS report the same. I can't put a number on it but it is significant and noticeable in the panadapter.

Thanks to all of you that have worked so hard on this for so long.
