G2 and piHPSDR RigCtrl startup of CAT connection

Hello,

this night I connected an USB to Serial RS232 adapter to the USB jack on the rear panel. I was not able to start serial communication (checkboxes for serial 0 or 1 could not be hit) - settings were preset to dev/ttyACM0 and ACM1.

Anyone tried this? Do I have to select settings on the pi before?

Any ideas/ thoughts would be appreciated.

Solved.

dmesg | grep usb

showed me the device name /dev/ttyUSB0 for the RS232 converter. Enable RigCtrl, Enable the serial port with correct baudrate (38400 for me) and now piHSDR is talking to my Microham MK2R+.

Cheers

Updated to release 9/19. After that update, CAT refused to work.

Anyone experiencing the same?

Try updating pihpsdr again. I was actually working on merging in some
changes in the serial handling code on 9/19 which turned out to have a bug,
but the current (todays) should work OK.

Hi Rick,

It's really great you are actively working on pihpsdr. You might consider starting a topic in the piHPSDR section discussing your work so that folks know what's new, what's fixed, and when it's ready to be used or tested.

CAT is back in operation, TNX Rick.

I fully agree with Scott. Developers of piHPSDR always update on Github and is not obvious for us "users" whether it is recommended to update from Github or not.
