piHPSDR S-Meter calibration

Postby dl4zbg » Thu Sep 30, 2021 9:21 pm

Hello,

a ham friend of mine is using piHPSDR from time to time. He is wondering whether there is a calibration menue for the S-Meter similar to Thetis/HPSDR.....

I did not find anything like this in the piHPSDR manuals. Is there a way to calibrate the S- meter?

Hi Volker,

I haven't found any way to calibrate the S-meter and on my radio the S-meter shows about 6 dB low.
I took a - granted brief - look at the code to see if there was any obvious place to change the meter reading, but I did not find anything.

That's what I expected. More than 100 looks but nobody knows a solution.

Now on my G2 the S-meter is showing 5 dB more than it should. S9 = -73dBm and piHPSDR showing -68dBm.

Dear developers, is there any chance to correct this value, e.g. changing entries in config files?

I am not thinking of calibration functions in the software.

HW?

In the "Radio" menue I found an rx gain correction. This is what I requested.

No further queries.
