No TX audio in AM mode.

Postby cleanrf » Sun Dec 23, 2018 5:35 pm

I have TX audio in SSB mode but no TX audio in AM mode. Using a behringer UMC202HD microphone interface.
Thanks for any help.

You are not providing nearly enough information to debug your problem.

Did AM mode ever work for you? Or is this the first time you've tried it?

Does the radio go into transmit mode?

Do you at least get a carrier? If so, what power level are you set to, and what is the power level of the carrier?

When you transmit in AM mode, and your TX Meter is set to "Mic", do you see appropriate audio levels?

Yes AM mode has worked numerous times in the past.

Radio goes into Tx mode and there is a 2 watt carrier. This is normal.

The “mic” meter does not move. Switch to LSB and all works well. It’s the same with receive too.

If your drive is 8 or 10W then 2W carrier is normal. Is that correct?

You might check in Setup > Transmit and see if for some reason line in is selected instead of mic when in AM. Or see if VAC is selected instead of mic. Or see if anything else in the audio processing chain (there are a LOT of settings) changes between SSB and AM (mic boost, etc.).

Failing that, I'd say export your database, then reset it and reconfigure and see if that fixes the problem. If not, you can re-import your database.

Return to “PowerSDR mRX”
