MIDI Brick
MIDI Brick
My ANAN-10 no longer works. It was fine until I decided to use a Flex Control as a tuning knob. I clicked on the MIDI controller button and it went through some sort of setup and ended with a blank screen. And that was that. Now when I try to start PowerSDRmRX I get a "radio is not connected" type of message. Of course, the radio is connected. What should I do? Harry K1RSA
Re: MIDI Brick
You probably need to reset your database.
Click Setup. Click Export Database, just in case resetting the database is not the problem and you want to go back. Click Reset Database. Sadly, that means you will have to start all over with setup.

Re: MIDI Brick
Hi Scott. Turned out to be some sort of conflict. I had unplugged my Flex this morning. Did that cause the issue? I did delete the PowerSDR software and then reinstalled it. No change. So I fired up the Flex software, in guest mode, and then the PowerSDR came to life. And it still boots after I turn off the Flex software. I cannot explain it but I'm happy the ANAN is back to normal.
Re: MIDI Brick
Scott, one thing I forgot to ask. Will the FlexControl act as a MIDI controller? How does one activate it?

Re: MIDI Brick
No, the Flex Control is NOT a MIDI device. However, you CAN use it. You must install and configure DDUtil, then configure the Flex Control in DDUtil.
To get DDUtil to talk to PowerSDR, you will need to use one of the three virtual serial port software applications: com0com, VSPM or Eterlogic VSPE. VSPE costs money, but it is my personal choice because I have found it to be the most stable and reliable.

Re: MIDI Brick
Will a MIDI controller work right out of the box? Can you suggest one?
Re: MIDI Brick
You do have to configure the controls the way you want them, but it will work out of the box, so to speak.
Pretty much any Hercules or Behringer controller will work. Just pick the one that is the size and layout you like. I'm a minimalist. I like the Hercules DJ Compact.
