I have noticed that the SNR using the pihpsdr app is much better than when I use Thetis. The way I found out is that I had my G2 using a Hexbeam (only good for 6M through 20M), but had the G2 receiving on the 80M band. When using the Thetis program, the SNR was not as good. Some stations were fairly strong (way less noise) when using the pihpsdr app, and much harder to understand when using Thetis. What could be the cause? I tried changing some settings in the Thetis program, but nothing seemed to help. I have tried the AGC on both manual and automatic.

S/N Ratio pihpsdr vs Thetis
Re: S/N Ratio pihpsdr vs Thetis
Are you sure you use the same antenna for both? 73 de va7qi, ....Erik.
Re: S/N Ratio pihpsdr vs Thetis
OK, I figured out what the issue was. I was led to believe that the AGC controls the attenuation setting, but I now see it doesn't. The value in the S-ATT area was 14. I thought that it was just displaying the last value used for Pure Signal...
