Only Getting 65 Watts On Peak Meter

Running Linhpsdr v0.7-beta). Radio is an ANan 7000DLE Mk2.

I can only get about 65-66 watts output on my peak reading meter. I've tried maxing out Mic level and Mic gain, no change. I get full output with Thetis on Win10.

Mic settings are:

When driving my amplifier it's ok but if I want to run barefoot ......

Any ideas?

David,

You may have difficulty getting a lot of responses, there aren't many linHPSDR users.

I don't use linHPSDR either, so bear that in mind ;)

The first thing I noticed is that you have both 20dB boost AND bias enabled. This is probably wrong. Condenser (electret) mic's require bias but not boost. Dynamic mic's require boost but not bias. You should almost certainly not be using both at the same time unless you've got a very strange microphone. What microphone are you using?

Questions based on my experience with PowerSDR and Thetis (and I'm assuming that linHPSDR has the necessary functionality):

- Have you calibrated your TX gain settings?
- What output power do you get when you assert TUN at the drive power level?
- What output power do you get when you assert two tone at the drive power level?
- Are you using PureSignal when this problem occurs?

Scott

Thanks Scott.

No manual in the package, I'll look around on GitHub.

The mic is a Heil PR781G (Dynamic). I unchecked the bias.

There are settings to calibrate the TX, I guess I'll have to grab the manual off my Win10 desktop and hope the TX calibration works the same.

Thanks!

What about answers to the other questions, Dave?

Scott,

I got interrupted yesterday so I hope to complete the checks/adjustments today.

I'll update when I'm done. I'll use the instructions from the Thetis manual as I could not find a linhpsdr manual.

I DID find a linhpsdr page connected with the page you have a link to in another thread that tells how to compile linhpsdr on Ubuntu 21.04, which is what I'm running.

Again, thanks for you help, I'll report back later today.

There is a manual here:
https://github.com/g0orx/linhpsdr/blob/master/documentation/linhpsdr-user.pdf

Also there is a recent manual for the Hermes-Lite2, the PA calibration section
has a bit more info than the ANAN manual:
https://github.com/m5evt/linhpsdr/blob/master/documentation/linhpsdr_hl2.pdf

Rick,

Thanks for the links. I never ran across Git-Hub until I got this radio. LOTS of places to look there.

Scott,

Thanks. To refresh:

1. I attempted to calibrate my drive power settings. When tuning at 10% power, no matter how I adjust the PA Calibration, it starts at 4 watts and when adjusting DOWN, I can only change it a few tenths. Note the drive power is set to 100%.

2. When I assert tune at the drive power level, I only get 64.8 watts out.

3. When I assert two-tone at the drive power level, I only get 10.7 watts out.

Pure Signal is off.

Note that I get full output on Windows with Thetis and when I set my tune to 10%, I get 10 watts on tune.
