Low transverter output

Hi,

I have a 7000DLE Mk2, Thetis & Protocol 1.

I am trying to interface my 2m Transverter via the two ports on the back of the rig. When I set the levels as per the manual (PA setting 65) the output from the Xvrt SMA is -43dBm. It should be 0dBm. I can get the 28MHz signal as high as -23dBM by changing the PA setting to its lowest value but the supply current then increases to well over 10 Amps even with the PA disable box ticked. Plainly this would be useless on a constant carrier mode such as FM.

Can anybody shed any light as to why the transverter output is so low?

Hi Graeme,

using my 7000 DLE (no MKII) I can get abt. 0 dBm at a gain setting of 72. The output is very clean (IM3 abt -50dBc). Did you enable the checkboxes "XVERT RF TX" and "Disable PA" for your (hopefully) enabled transverter?

Many thanks Volker.

Thankfully the problem is not with the hardware.

Using mRx PS v 3.4.9 I can easily get 0dBm out with a gain setting of 73.5

With Thetis, Protocol 1 and the same gain setting of 73.5 the Xvert output level is -52dBm, this is with both "XVERT RF TX" and "Disable PA" both ticked.

Maybe switching to Protocol 2 is the answer Volker.

It would be good to get confirmation from the developers that this is the case though.

I am not sure how you would do that anymore.

Many thanks for your comments
