Keeping MIDI setup when upgrading versions

Postby W2PA » Fri Jun 02, 2017 9:48 pm

Just a note on upgrades...

When you update PowerSDR-OpenHPSDR mRX PS - such as today to v3.4.1, you need to copy the midi2cat.xml file from your old installation into the new directory where your database file sits. This is because the MIDI settings are stored separately from all the other database functions, and it writes its own file. When you copy this file over, all your knob/slider/wheel/button mappings will come with it.

The other way, of course, is to Export your MIDI settings in Setup in the old version, and then Import them in MIDI Settings in the new one.

Hi Chris, installed the CMD micro yesterday and then did the upgrade to 3.4.1 and the midi mapping worked right away . I do notice though that the midi2cat.xml is stored at C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR mRX PS and not the main power sdr directory.
