PureSignal useless with new P2 10.3 code

Postby K0MO » Sun Aug 11, 2019 12:19 am

Hello,

Protocol 2 firmware v10.3 DOES NOT work with PureSignal on any version of Thetis 2.6.7, 2.6.6, 2.6.5, 2.6.4, 2.6.3, 2.6.0, I have tried on the ANAN-100B and 10E. As soon as you press the PS-A button on Thetis, the firmware crashes on the radio.

However, previous Protocol 2 firmware v10.2 DOES work with PureSignal on all Thetis versions without issues or crashes.

My question to Phil Harman is:
Why is the reason for not implementing PureSignal in the new code?

I hope you could fix the PureSignal issue for these radios.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not sure that Phil actually reads the forum.

I don't believe Phil removed PS in 10.3. I have not looked at the code, but more likely it simply does not make timing (properly run on the FPGA) on your hardware in that version.

If you listen to the TeamSpeak sessions every Friday night (recordings are available), you will find that Phil seems to be almost entirely focused on the EER amplifier work right now, rather than P2.

Does 10.2 not work sufficiently well for you?

Thanks for your reply Scott. The 10.2 code doesn't work as well as 10.3 running Thetis versions 2.6.4 and above. Except for the PureSignal timing issue and some minor quirks, 10.3 works really good.

I know Phil is busy working on that project but, if you could show him this post, it would be much appreciated.
