I would like to ask to interested around
I am definitely going to build Andromeda ! Small side effect... If order PCB, lowest quantity will be 5. Are there folk around interested??? I'd prefer to send to EU. More quantity are welcomed, but I am not sure about interest.
Other thought
I would like to reuse IC-761 VFO knob, but reroute PCB will be hell of job for me. If there enough interested, who would like to use BIGGER VFO knob? Let's go
Especially if there anybody skilled, I would pass this part. Otherwise it will ask from me too much time and expensive mistakes which I can't afford
Redisign front panel was quite easy

OK, I did it
I ordered 5 PCB set!!! If someone would share with me it, let's go
I'd prefer EU! Other regions could be too expensive... Anyway it's not cheap for me :-/
P.S. If you are interested... PM

I attach a photograph of a "standalone Andromeda". I've made this because I've had too many accidents on my workbench and I needed Andromeda in a form where the wrong power lead wouldn't do any damage!

This has the NUC PC on the back; it has stereo speakers on top. Most people are better at metalwork than me, so more imaginative packaging is possible!
You can use this connected to the radio hardware (eg ANAN200D; 7000DLE): so the front panel CW key, microphone and headphones all route to the Orion board in the hardware. Or you can use it remote from the radio with an ethernet connection, using PC (VAC) audio. In this case the CW key and PTT connect to Thetis via a USB serial port.
Mine doesn't have a good audio amplifier yet - you can "hear" the PC operating. I think this is coupled through the NUC power supply, which plugs into the back on my box. More work to do here. I'm planning to get rid of the prototype board and make a small PCB for the audio paths.

That looks pretty spiffy. Is that an Andromeda without its cloths on ?

Laurence, may be do you have hires pictures of populated Andromeda PCB? Could be nice for reference

I didn't take any pictures - but next time it comes out of the box I can do. It will not include 3 components around the 5V regulator, which were vaporised following a problem when I connected the power cable for a different board - my mistake!

I tried to make a picture from my Andromeda pcb.
Somehow I can't get a sharp photo.

Andromeda Boards

If anyone has a set of the Andromeda boards and would like to sell them, let me know. I am interested in building one. I have a NUC and a 7000dle MkII already.

Soldering could start
I will start to send messages to hams who reserved their sets, later on, when I will get through with final cost for each

Nobody so far. I think it will be better that you are going to organise by yourself batch for US
I think order 10 PCBs, and after month they will gone, I am sure. There were at least two from US who asked
FYI, Digikey, as well as other sellers are out of original displays! They should be back by Xmas. Guess when you will get it

OK, I will try to punch my son to make better images
But later on, it will be with populated parts

Made progress yesterday
Most of the small parts are now soldered on front panel. Looking forward

Building progress move forward
But as always, newer BOM, new schematic, and you realise you don't have all necessary parts
Do not buy Arduino from Aliexpress, I bought
And realise, it differs from used in Andromeda
My fault...

Building slowered, because lack of necessary parts. Got them and now I can continue
I want to say on Aliexpress are sale again and there are Andromeda encoders for better price than usual
Both, big one for VFO and smaller one.
P.S. I forget to mention, I found good replacement for DB9 socket on IO board. P/N K88X-ED-9S-BR on Digikey. Previous bought sit too deep. This are exactly in the same level as 3.5mm audio sockets.

Nothing found at Github for Andromeda, only Thetis. Thanks for the help and I'll keep looking there for updates.
I sent a note earlier to 'Support' but I guess those guys are busy getting rigs out the door
Take care, Tom- W4TMW

Well I really screwed up. When I did the search on Github, I spelled Andromeda wrong (Andromada).
