Angelia_Protocol_2_v11.6/ANAN-100D firmware released

Postby K5SO » Mon Apr 24, 2017 12:07 am

New firmware for Angelia/ANAN-100D Protocol 2 is available for download from

Be sure to use the DOWNLOAD button on the web page to obtain the download; do NOT double-click on the file name nor right-click “Save As” to download the file as doing either of these latter two actions will not download the 1.8MB file.

This Protocol 2 firmware must be used with Thetis or other Protocol 2 software; not PowerSDR (which requires Protocol 1 firmware in the hardware).

This version adds peak detection to FWD_PWR (AIN1) and REV_PWR (AIN2) and speeds up user ADC conversion rates x10. It also modifies the PHY Rx clock skew timing to (hopefully) allow use of the firmware on more ANAN-100D radios with less undesirable unit-specific behavior. The version also fixes the external PTT IN feature (pin 13 on the accessory jack of the ANAN-100D).

I use firmware 11.6 and angelia board in Anan 100D.
Is it possible to do cw via some pin of the aux connector ? I read in the firmware notes that IO5 is a external CW keying. Textual:

"added IO5 external CW keying feature for ext amp autotune support in iambic CW mode, using debounced IO5,
changes in Angelia.v and iambic.v"

May be I am wrong or 'translate' bad that function. Where can i find in DB25 the IO5 angelia pin ?

Thanks and regards.

Not 100% sure about this because it's something I've never used or tested.

There are three digital INPUT pins on the accessory connector. They are

Pin 18 "Digital Input 2"
Pin 7 "Digital Input 4"
Pin 9 "Digital Input 1"

I do not think the names mean anything at all.

In the past I have used Pin 9 and found that it worked as a "TX Inhibit" line in PowerSDR, but I'm not sure what any of these inputs do under Protocol 2.

All inputs are pulled up to 3.3.V via an internal resistor. To assert them simply ground them.

I suggest you experiment with them. Let us know what you find!

CW keying pin 18 works well (db25)
