P2 firmware not seen by Thetis

Hi all!

I have got an ANAN-7000DLE for repair. The problem with PTT always on was quickly fixed by replacing U29 on the OrionMKII.

But after reassembling the 7000 Thetis is unable to connect to the radio.

Disassembled again, using the Orion board alone, I tried different firmware versions. With P1 firmware programmed I can use PowerSDR to connect to the Orion board.

Both the 32bit and 64bit versions of Thetis fail to connect to the P2 firmware loaded Orion board.

Any hints?

Are you using a Gigabit Ethernet connection? GigE NIC? GigE switch (if any)?

What P2 firmware are you loading?

Hi Scott,

I should have mention that my own 7000 works fine with P2 firmware like other 7000s and 8000s on my workbench too!

This "repaired" unit worked fine before I removed the Orion board for part replacement. I will remove the Orion from the bottom plate and do another try.

More data:

With P2 firmware installed the OrionMKII does not work. The two leds D18 and D19 light up for a few seconds, then D18 goes off and D19 follows a seconds later.

With P1 firmware there ist much activity at the two rows of red leds and the boards responds to PowerSDR.

Does anyone have a desription of the leds on hand?

Will write some emails...

Fault found by use of a microscope! The ethernet chip is not set flat on the pcb, one pin row is highter than the one on the opposite site. One pin was not even soldered (LED driver).

The board is running P2 firmware again without any problem.
