All,
New current-protocol (Protocol1) firmware for the ANAN-8000DLE is available for download from:
https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Firmware
This version implements peak detect for FWD_PWR (AIN1) and REV_PWR (AIN2) for the SWR calculations in software. The change settles the SWR readings in the software display. While this change works with the current version of PowerSDR, a new version of PowerSDR that makes better use of the peak values being sent to the PC by this firmware version will likely be released soon.
Thanks, Warren NR0V, for helping to get this done.

Could someone give a quick explanation of the different Protocol's please? I was only aware of one so I assume there's a new version out there somewhere?

Dominic,
The "new protocol", akak Protocol 2, is a complete respin of the original firmware, with a new and substantially improved interface specification. You can find the specification well documented here: https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Firmware/tree/master/Protocol%202/Documentation
It implements Gigabit Ethernet (only--no support for 100BASE-T at all). The higher speed of GigE is exploited to provide IF sample rates of up to 1.5Msps, with a much larger number of IF streams being simultaneously possible (limited by how many DDCs can fit in an FPGA, which has not changed). This latter improvement allows PureSignal to be used at any combination of sample rates. There are a lot of other "under the hood" improvements.
In order to use Protocol 2 you need a client that supports it. As of the time of this posting, that would be Thetis (basically PowerSDR modified to run the new protocol), SDR Console, and piHPSDR.
All of this is is late alpha/early beta, and therefore is not recommended for the faint-hearted, nor those who are not comfortable with HPSDR Bootloader!
