Thetis 32 vs 64 bit on dedicated NIC

Postby FM5GB » Sun Jan 10, 2021 10:11 pm

Hi all,

As I told before I had a problem with Thetis (frame drops shown by the red square with occasional video freeze and audio dropouts) occuring very often with a 1536000 sample rate and not quite as much with 768000 SR.
So I eventually decided to install a NIC on my PCIe bus solely dedicated to my 200D. It was a bit of a struggle to get this working with the 64 bit version of Thetis. But I could never get the 32 bit x86 version working on this connection (NIC Ip is 192.168.5.1 and the radio is 192.168. 5.2 following W1AEX's tutorial on the subject)
Thetis 64 bit v2.8.11 works as it should : very few dropouts with 1536000 SR and no trouble at all with 768000 SR.
Thetis x86 32 bit shows a -398 dBm meter level on both receivers with no ground noise floor on the panadapter and no audio when powered on. The radio is talking with the computer because WideBand works (Thetis showing the WB window with the signals) and the NIC status in W10pro64 shows Gigabites of traffic when the radio is powered on.
I wanted to try Thetis 32 bit because this version uses less processor resources on my system (I7 4770K @3.5 GHz, 500 Gb SSD, 16 Gb RAM Win10 pro 64).
Any idea ?

Happy, prosperous and healthy 2021
