"Singing the song of our people"

This came up in another thread and I thought it might have some value here as a separate post...

Although 700 and 1900Hz are the "standard" for official two-tone IMD performance tests, it is by no means necessary or required that to use those tones specifically. I set my two-tone test to run 70 and 190Hz. This provides more than sufficient stimulus for PureSignal to get a solution and to test both PureSignal performance and drive settings on the amp before starting operations.

70 and 190Hz is also quite a bit more pleasant to listen to. That combination does not "sing the song of our people" and immediately mark one as a crazy Apache Labs radio owner :D

Hi Scott and all others,

for my Acom 600S I take 500 and 696 hz.
The 600S Firmware is blocking the "normal" Frequenzys.
Max. 196 - 197 hz differenz between the Tone are working here.

I kind of like the natural sounding two-tone (700Hz + 1900Hz ) "Song of Our People" and will tune right to it when I hear it on any band! It helps me to avoid signals like this newest addition to the "Dirty Dozen Hall of IMD Infamy"! The guy displayed in the screenshot below was really popular this morning while jumping around 20 meters to work stations during one of the multiple contests blotting out the band.

Scott, the 70Hz + 190Hz tune has a good beat but it's too slow for me to dance to comfortably.
