More important is to find out if the boatloader code (.pof file )
Location is confusing or not? Otherwise I will cause issues for someone requiring it in the future.

If the radio is dead for the moment, you may call it bricked or by any name should not matter till the final obituary is written. In allmost all the case it can be brought to life uploading the code .pof files unless FPGA is dead or something wrong with the power rails to it. A surgery by Doug W5WC may be required in that case.

On a lighter note if the radio is dead and heartbeat is missing by not blinking FPGA led, it's a heart attack on the radio and only difference with human heart attack is is the importance of timing. You need CPR withing a few minutes but here you can perform it at ease when you are able to find the correct .pof files after lot of confusion and you have USB blaster at hand. :D

Can we say CPR required state instead of bricked
