Anan 100E vs. 100D

Postby DH1KLM » Tue Aug 24, 2021 8:26 am

Can someone explain the differences between Anan100E and 100D?
I searched the net on 100E, but received only a few / useless information.

My understanding, which might be incorrect, is that Apache produced "euro spec" versions (and not sure exactly what that means, either) and designated that by adding an "E" to the model number. Thus an ANAN-100E should be equivalent to an ANAN-100.

Leaving aside this "euro labeling" confusion, I don't ever remember a model being advertised as "-100E". Apache has produced the following models in the -100 series:

-100: 16-bit Hermes SDR (single ADC) with 100W amp
-100B: 14-bit Hermes SDR (single ADC, smaller FPGA) with 100W amp
-100D: 16-bit Angelia SDR (dual ADCs, larger FPGA) and 100W amp

The -100 was the first to be produced and was a 100W version of the original -10.

The -100B was the last to be produced and was a derivative of the low cost, 10W ANAN-10E (or -10EE in European markets).

Depending on the vintage, some of the 100D's may have upgraded TCXOs and/or upgraded RF boards (Rev. 16 vs Rev. 24).
