Mystery switch at bottom panel of 10E

Postby kb3cs » Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:06 pm

"SW17" <-- i've looked all over the Hermes and Apollo schematic diagrams and did not see it.

i looked through the User Guide and did not find a mention there, either.

this switch is accessed through a slot (hole) made in the bottom panel of a 10E.

please, anyone, what is this mystery switch?

That is the "bootloader switch". In the normal position the 10E will boot up using the SDR firmware. In the bootloader position the 10E will boot up in "bootloader" mode, thereby allowing you to install new/different/upgraded firmware using the HPSDR Bootloader program on your PC.

It is a slightly more convenient way of switching between the two boot modes rather than the physical jumper used on older models.

So far as I know, the switch positions are not marked, so you might do that in order avoid any confusion down the road.

All of the ANAN series hardware boots at power on, so any time you move the switch you need to power cycle the unit.
