Hi there,

when repairing my Anan700DLE, I had a defective U17 (ADC78H90CIMT) on the Orion board. During assembly, I plugged the Orion ribbon cable into the wrong connector on the PA board. J17 is correct, I stuck to J22.

The V (volt) indicator and the FWD_PWR and REV_PWR are fine with the new ADC78H90CIMT.

But the ampere display on Thetis 2.8.11 doesn't show me anything, what could be the problem?

unfortunately not, I can't find the place where the current is measured (ampere).
It must be on the PA board. The Thetis always shows 0.0 amperes.

Hi Thoren,
U12 on the pa board is the current sensor. On J22-1 you can probe the signal coming from the sensor. You should see a voltage proportional to the current draw of the pa. The ACS713 datasheet might be helpful. U1008A (LM358) is an impedance converter / driver for the current signal.
PA board J22 goes to J10-1 on the spreadout pcb, further to J2-11 and via the ribbon cable to the Orion board J16-11 through filter FL8 to U17-7.

If I disassemble the 7000 the case with the pa board stands upright (perpenticular) and the bottom plate with the Orion is placed flat on the bench. So I can run the unit with all cables connected.

I'm curious what is broken. I inserted the 10 pin cable incorrectly.
J15 Orion on J22 PA
J10 Ext. To J7 PA
That was wrong, the U17 (ADC78H90CIMT) on the Orion Board is already new.
What is still broken now?

My crystall ball is broken
I have disassembled and reassembled many ANANs but never failed to plug the ribbon cables into the wrong place. Every time I disassemble a unit I take a bunch of photos.
You should key / unkey the tx and use an oscope to follow the signal to the place where it disappears.

the ACS713 is defective. Pin 7 is 0.35V in RX operation and 0.62V in 45W TX. If I apply 5V to R91, the Thetis will display 53A.

If the ACS713 is a 20A or 30A version, I can only see ACS713T. Do you know a fast source of supply with cheap shipping. Thank you in advance for your good help.

Digikey has this device in stock. A quick search for other sources in DL failed.

I finally got the current sensor and installed it. What I notice is that the Anan only shows 0.1 A at 13.6 V in RX mode. With TX FM, 12.7 V voltage dip with 95W approx. 12.5 A. If these values are OK, I suspected that the sensor delivers more precise values.

my 7k shows 13.7 V / 0.0 A in rx mode and 13 V / 17 A during a 100 W tune on 10 m. SWR is 1.6. I'm fine with this readings.

then everything is as it should be, device has been successfully repaired. Thank you again for your assistance with troubleshooting.

I still have some current sensors here in case anyone needs it.
