Delivery Time 7000DLE MKII

Postby W4GM » Thu Aug 06, 2020 3:12 pm

Scott I realize this is the wrong place for this post, but hoped for a quick reply. I have a friend, K5UA who ordered and payed for a new 7000 7 weeks ago and has not received the rig. He was told 6 week delivery time when he placed the order. Any idea why it should be taking so long? He is patently waiting and emailed Apache Labs today. Anyone else had problems?

Yes, wrong place. Why not put it in the right place? Now moved to the right place...

My 7KDLE took a couple of weeks longer to fab than initially forecast, due to the coronavirus affecting component deliveries.

After it shipped it got hung up in Customs in California for another week which made total shipping time about 2 weeks.

So it finally arrived several weeks later than initially anticipated, but it did eventually arrive.

No news yet. Waiting for a reply from customer support. Hopefully he get good news tomorrow. Last email was on 7-10 telling him they would forward tracking info.

Hello Mike,

I believe a reply has been send to K5UA informing him of the order ship date,

We are shipping radios albeit at a lower volume due to the Social distancing at work requirement and the stage-4 lock down in Melbourne,

Luckily we just finished a production run and now have enough stock of assembled boards to last us a few months now. the longer lead time earlier was due to most components having a longer lead time.

Please expect a lead time of 2-3 weeks on new orders, I am aware that folks who ordered earlier had a lead time of 4-6 weeks, we are looking at pushing out all pending orders in the next two weeks..

Hope this helps,

Tony

Tony,

Thanks for the update. I convinced Charles to purchase the 7000DLE MKII. He has been using a Flex6500 the last 5 years and will be another convert!

Mike

Thank you for maintaining production given the challenges. Waiting is the hardest part and loving the new rig. Radio has kept me mostly sane during this crazy period.
