RS232 INTERFACE/ CIRRO MAZZONI BABY LOOP

Postby mark1161 » Thu Aug 23, 2018 11:46 am

Good Morning All,

I have a Cirro Mazzoni Baby loop, http://www.ciromazzoni.com/loop-baby, antenna which works fine with the ANAN 100D from 7.0 - 28.0 mHZ. As with any other mag loop, it has a narrow tuning range per each frequency and has to be retuned when moving a few kHZ up or down the band. This tuning is done by entering the frequency number on a touch pad that is connected to an ATU unit. There is a hands free upgrade to this procedure with the purchase of a RS232 kit, from the manufacturer, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NihyFuHq3ng&t=30s which will sense the frequency from the rig and tune the antenna. Can the ANAN 100D somehow accomodate this hardware through the accessory port?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You are not posting enough information to know, Mark. Do you have a link to an English language user manual for the RS232 interface?

The only thing that can be said for certain right now is that if the unit can communicate with a Kenwood CAT RS232 interface it will probably work. You would connect it to a COM port on your PC and configure PowerSDR appropriately.
