ARRL FMT and Spec Lab

Postby Buck » Sat Oct 28, 2017 11:54 pm

The ARRL Frequency Measuring Test is coming up, and I'd like to use my 200D for that. I have Spec Lab installed, though I don't know a lot about it. I tuned to WWV and fed VAC2 into it. The little peak reading box on the left gave a changing reading that was generally a few hundredths of a hertz away from 500 or 600 Hz, so that's good. I found a tutorial about using file capture to analyze and average the measured audio frequency, but the online tool it referenced is no longer posted and the version of Spec Lab it used was also old. Can someone point me to recent material relating to accurate frequency measurement and Spec Lab? Thanks.

The ARRL test is 0200 UTC on 3 November, and will use two tones, with about 170 Hz shift upwards from the first to the second. Testers should report the frequency of the first tone, and the amount of shift to the second.
