Anan 7000DLE MkII i7 dead in water

Postby needlro1 » Tue Oct 05, 2021 2:37 am

I recently purchased a used Anan 7000DLE MkII with embedded i7. The radio had an old version of Thetis (2.6.9?) and the Windows version was badly out of date. I was able to operate the radio satisfactorily with no internet connection, just having the 2 LAN cables connected. For no apparent reason, the radio stopped working, and gave me the following error message:

ERROR STARTING SDR HARDWARE, IS IT CONNECTED AND POWERED
I connected the radio via WiFi to the internet and downloaded the latest version of Thetis and did a Windows update, which had not been done for almost 2 years. I still couldn't get the radio to work and foolishly did a PC reset of Windows, although I did choose to 'save my files'. After the reset, there was a folder ("Removed Apps"") listing all the programs that had been deleted. I tried restoring them in the "Windows.old"folder without success. The PC is working normally as far as connecting to the internet, but the radio no longer works when I press the Ön'button - I just get the error message. Any help would be appreciated as I'm pretty much stuck with an expensive paperweight at this point. The following is a list of the programs that were removed during the PC Reset (which I assume was installed at the factory?):

Bob,

Your original error could have been caused by one of the following problems:

1. Bad ethernet cable or ethernet hardware on either the NUC or radio side.
2. Corrupted firmware in the radio.
3. Actual radio hardware failure.
4. Some change in Windows network configuration.

You don't need most of what's missing, but you do need some of it.

You need to install:

WinPCAP
HPSDR Bootloader
HPSDR Programmer
Thetis

You probably should go to the Intel support website and run their tools to get your NUC drivers back up to snuff:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... stant.html

And be sure that Windows remains up to date.

Once you get all that loaded, come back and post that you are ready for the next step.

73,

Scott
