I have a 7000 and want to use 2 RX with 2 antennas. This would be used
with 2 copies of WSJT-X for diversity reception.
My question is how can I make RX2 communicate with the 7000 so that when
I change bands with WSJT-X then the 2nd WSJT-X will follow. The RX1 receiver is
connected by COM 5
but COM5 is not allowed in RX2.
If I use VFO sync then both RX1 and R2 will change bands but the 2nd
WSJT-X doesn't know it.
Any suggestions?

dual receiver question
Re: dual receiver question
Unfortunately, the software is not capable of doing what you want.
One instance WSJT-X can receive and transmit through VAC1 on RX1-VFO-A. This instance can also control VFO-A and PTT via a CAT port.
One instance of WSJT-X can receive only through VAC2 on RX2-VFO-B. Although VFO-B is controllable via CAT, I don't believe that WSJT-X is smart enough to know how to do that, but you can give it a separate CAT connection, there are plenty of them. Plus this instance of WSJT-X cannot transmit, there is no facility for transmissions through the VAC2 interface.
I'm not sufficiently familiar with WSJT-X to know if any of the WSJT-X split settings could fake things into at least getting the VFO-B frequency reading out on the RX2 instance.
P.S. moving this to the correct sub-forum. This was not a networking question, it was a digi mode software interface question.

Re: dual receiver question
Thanks Scott. Very helpful information as usual.
