I am looking for help with linking my 8000DLE to control band selection on my SPE 1K-FA amplifier. Any help would be appreciated including reference to links outside this group.
Thanks and 73,

8000DLE control of SPE 1K-FA
Re: 8000DLE control of SPE 1K-FA
Simply put "8000 SPE" into the search box in the upper right corner of the page here and you will find what you need.
Re: 8000DLE control of SPE 1K-FA
I believe you will need to use the option of “yaesu band data” which is a bcd control. I use this on my amp. I did post a topic under the “everything else” header here with the topic of “OC” bcd control. I give diagrams and photos of the connection to the 8000. Hope this helps.

Not sure why you would use band data, as opposed to using CAT from a port on the PC with a USB to serial adapter into the SPE. I have driven my 1.3kFA and 2kFA that way with no issue. Band data does not have the specific operating frequency embedded in it, just the band.

Consider using DDUTIL with serial interface for connecting Expert PAs. I am using it for my ANAN/ACOM setup.

You can obtain CAT control of an SPE amp either directly from PowerSDR/Thetis or via DDUtil (make sure you use an older version that still supports legacy software--newer versions only support SmartSDR) as long as you have your serial cable built properly.
