Elecraft KPA1500

Elecraft just announced a new solid state full power amp. It is 50V LDMOS based. The interesting thing for HPSDR based radio's is that even though the Elecraft transceivers don't have a need for a sampler output, they put one in "for sampling use by transceivers that support it". Since it is LDMOS based it should perform well with PureSignal.

Of course, it isn't cheap ($5995, including internal tuner). I'm currently using my Hermes based transceiver with an Elecraft KXPA100 whose output is then sent to a KAT500/KPA500 combination, so I am a fan of Elecraft amps, but not their transceivers. I started with an SDR radio (SoftRock RXTX Ensemble), so I'm not a fan of knobs.

Stu,

It's right on Elecraft's main page, http://www.elecraft.com/

Be sure to follow the link there, and take a look at the both the brochure and FAQ downloads.

To rich for my blood! But it looks like an awesome amp, and competitively priced compared to other top of the line choices like an Acom 2000A, SPE, or OM4000. I'd love to have one!

73!

IMO That price is insane, only suitable for fan boys.

I'm waiting for the ACOM 1200S which may be at the Hamvention at Dayton in May: http://www.acomcz.cz/zesilovace/acom-1200s-%5Bid%3DAC1200S%5D.html

ETA: Delivery Q3 / Q4 2017.
