Keyer problem

Postby G0MXH » Sat Apr 18, 2020 3:45 pm

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help with this problem. I recentley decided to get back into morse using my ANAN 7000DLE but I am having some strange issues either using an external or the built-in Keyer.
Every time I try to send any code it keeps adding extra dots or dashes to my sending even at very low send speeds of 12wpm. It is impossible to use. However if I take my Keyer off the ANAN and plug it into one of my old Kenwoods it works perfectly.
I have tried all the settings I can think of including the DIgi2 RCA port but nothing helps. It would be a shame if I had to get the old battleship (TS-940s) out so if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Software is Thetis 2.6.9.
Firmware is Protocol 2 version 1.9.
Keyer is an old homebuilt kit Jackson Harbour PK-4.

Try setting iambic to off. This worked for me.

I mean iambic in Thetis NOT the keyer.

Thanks for the reply Tom but I managed to figure it out. Having not used cw for a some time I was trying to listen through VAC and that's what was causing all the problems. Plugging some headphones directly into the Anan fixed the problem. It's not ideal because of the distance of the Anan to my laptop but at least it works.
