Lost VAC2 on SSB

Postby KA5KKT » Tue Dec 12, 2023 3:36 pm

7000 DLE II - Thetis v2.10.3.5 Pre3 (also v2.10.3.4) Overnight I lost both Lower and Upper SSB Audio via VAC2. Other modes except DRM do pass audio. VAC1 continue to be okay. I'm a bit perplexed.

There's probably at least a dozen things that might have changed.

My guess is that it is related to transmit profiles, but you have not posted nearly enough info for anyone to do anything but guess.

Did you make a change in your settings that got saved and over wrote your previous settings?
I have done that and it took a lot of head scratching to find what I had done.

Did you enable CM-ASIO in the Registry? That could be interfering with what you were doing in VAC2.

*More Info
In addition to the images attached below I do hear a faint tinkling sound in the background when VAC2 is engaged.
The tinkling sound may be related to a nearby strong station.

*As far as i know I've made no (conscious) changes in the settings. Settings are shown above as they currently exist with no VAC2 sound other than the tinkling sound.

*I have not enabled CM-ASIO in the registry. A regestry search finds only a few references to "cASIO"...the company. I use MME for the driver. Hostsample finds no AISO drivers installed.

Hope this helps,

Hi Dick,

I setup VAC1 and VAC2 just like yours (shown above) in version 2.10.3.5 pre-release-3 using my 7000DLE MKII. Everything works fine. I'm listening to a 40m QSO on 7.157 via RX1/VAC1 and an 80m QSO on 3.915 via RX2/VAC2. Sounds good.

Not trying to rub it in. Just trying to encourage you that it can be done using the latest pre-release.

What have you tried? Have you eliminated database corruption by temporarily deleting the database file?

You've got no RF coming in on RX2, so there's nothing to hear.

Check your RX2 RF path. Which ADC do you use for RX2? What port on the back do you use to feed RX2?

The matter seems to be resolved.

I reset the database and then imported a 12/1/23 version, but no joy. I then imported an 11/2/23 database and it seems to be functioning as normal.

For what it is worth the RX1 is ADC0 and RX2 is ADC1. I use the RX2 terminal for the 2nd RX. They've been that way all along...go figure. Yes, protocol 2.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions.
